AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. Each dimension maps to a specific instance type, spanning general-purpose and compute families across several generations. Smaller instances like c7a.medium and m1.medium cover lighter workloads. Larger sizes such as m4.16xlarge and t3.2xlarge handle heavier compute and memory needs. Pricing scales with the instance you choose, so bigger instances cost more per hour. Billing runs on usage, meaning you pay only for the hours each instance runs. Choose the instance type that fits your workload and budget.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover beyond the EC2 instance itself?
The rate pays for the Keep software running on your chosen instance, plus security and support from Hossted. This includes integrated SSL, secure access, routine image updates, and continuous security scans. You also get monitoring and management tools for the open-source application.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges meter running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Note that underlying AWS storage or other AWS resources may still incur separate AWS charges while the instance is stopped.
What drives my hourly cost, and how do I lower it?
Your cost is driven by the single instance type you select. Larger instance families and sizes bill more per hour than smaller ones. Choosing a smaller instance that still fits your workload reduces the hourly rate. You pay only for hours the instance actually runs.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
