Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. The 20 options map to different instance types across several families, from small sizes like m1.medium and c7a.medium up to larger sizes like m4.16xlarge. Larger instances carry more compute and memory, so the hourly rate scales with instance size. You pick the instance that fits your workload, and billing follows your actual running hours. This usage-based structure has no upfront commitment. The software adds monitoring, updates, security, and support for open-source applications on top of the underlying instance.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you launch, billed per hour. The rate follows the instance family and size, such as t3.large or m4.16xlarge. Larger instances carry more compute and memory, so they bill at a higher hourly rate. Billing tracks the actual hours the instance runs.
The software charge meters running instance-hours only. When you stop an instance, the hourly software fee stops accruing. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from this listing's per-hour software charge.
Your hourly charge covers monitoring, automated updates, security, and support for open-source applications running on the instance. Connecting the deployed app to the Hossted platform adds real-time monitoring and analytics. These capabilities apply regardless of which instance type you select.

Usage instructions
After deployment, you can access your application at http://<public IP>. (It might take up to 15 minutes to be available post-deployment). The machine is accessible via SSH, default username: ubuntu. Where relevant, app login credentials are available on message of the day (and /etc/motd).
