Verus is cutting-edge technology that produces near real-time intelligence from authorized inmate communications based on keywords and phrases. It automatically downloads, analyzes, and transcribes all authorized inmate communications, proactively flagging them for review.
Verus by LEO Technologies is the only search and analytics platform for public safety agencies and correctional institutions that proactively enhances public, personnel, and inmate safety. The Verus System is proprietary, cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform that interfaces with phone providers' applications to monitor authorized inmate communication data.
By evaluating and analyzing authorized inmate calls, insightful information or actionable intelligence can be developed for investigative purposes. Using the AWS platform, Verus begins ingesting authorized inmate communication data from the Phone Provider's system. Verus not only stays within the legal guidelines set forth by Federal, State, and local statutes, but remains neutral and unbiased during the monitoring. Verus cannot be used to search, nor filter results by any protected class. It only allows you to hear the voices that matter.
Verus by LEO Technologies monitors authorized inmate communication data and provides alerts based on keywords or phrases.
No phone provider currently offers user-friendly software that monitors, evaluates, and analyzes authorized inmate communication data on Verus' level. The intuitive technology is unmatched in performance capabilities to any other phone provider tool.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
Verus uses a contract pricing model with two separate dimensions. The first charges by the minute for authorized inmate communication that the platform processes. This scales with how much communication your agency transcribes and analyzes. The second charges for End User Access to the Verus platform. This covers the people in your agency who use the system. You pay for usage volume and user access independently. Together they let costs track both the amount of communication handled and the number of staff who need access.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one minute of authorized inmate communication for billing?
You are charged per minute of inmate communication that the platform ingests and processes. Audio from your telephone and messaging systems is transcribed, then analyzed for patterns and threats. Each minute of that authorized communication counts toward the per-minute charge. Cost rises as your agency transcribes more communication volume.
What does End User Access cover, and how does it differ from the per-minute charge?
End User Access covers the staff in your agency who log in and use the Verus platform. It is billed separately from communication minutes. The per-minute charge scales with how much communication you process. End User Access scales with how many people need to use the system.
Which dimension usually drives more of my bill — the minutes or the user access?
Both charges apply at the same time and appear together. The per-minute charge tends to dominate for agencies processing large volumes of inmate communication. End User Access weighs more when many staff need logins but communication volume stays low. Your usage pattern decides which drives the larger share.
