You pay by the hour for the software running on Windows Server 2019, and pricing is tied to the Amazon EC2 instance type you choose. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, from small burstable types like t3.nano to memory-optimized, compute-optimized, GPU, and bare-metal options. Your hourly rate scales with the instance's compute, memory, and hardware capacity. You are not locked into a term or fixed quantity. Larger or more specialized instances carry higher hourly rates. This lets you match the rate to the workload you plan to host.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What software comes preloaded on the instance I pay for hourly?
The image includes Apache Web Server, PHP, MySQL, MariaDB, phpMyAdmin, and a database GUI on Windows Server 2019. You get tools to manage services, switch versions, edit configuration, and view logs. The hourly rate covers this bundled software running on your chosen instance type.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off?
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue software charges. Underlying AWS storage fees for the disk may still apply while the instance is stopped. The software licence meters running hours only.
Is this pay-as-you-go, or do I commit to a term or fixed quantity?
This is usage-based, pay-as-you-go billing. You pay per hour for each running instance, with no term commitment and no fixed quantity. You can start, stop, resize, or shut down instances as your workload changes. Your bill reflects the instance types and hours you actually use.
