Satellite Resiliency for AWS Outposts (SRAO) by Deloitte

SRAO is a Deloitte-managed solution designed to extend the reach of AWS to remote and dispersed environments. It leverages primarily Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity to provide resilient, interoperable, and effective communication, even in regions where traditional land-based networks are unreliable or non-existent. This makes SRAO a solution for any organization (government, defense, commercial, etc.) that requires reliable communication capabilities for operational support in remote and austere environments. There are three key components of SRAO by Deloitte. The AWS Outposts extends AWS cloud computing capabilities to the edge. The compact server form factors are particularly suited for environments where high-density rack computing isn't necessary, offering enhanced mobility and easier transport. Secure vector routing is a network component that provides secure and efficient communication by dynamically routing data across optimal network paths. It leverages the Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) solution's secure routing capabilities, providing resilient rerouting across network paths in real time. The communication component of the SRAO solution, supported by primarily LEO satellite connectivity, offers significant advantages over traditional terrestrial connectivity, including lower latency and increased reliability. This is important for time-sensitive and emergency situations, helping ensure continuous communication even in remote or disrupted areas.
