This product provides Elasticsearch 9.0 integrated with Ubuntu 24.04 and delivered as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) by ThinkCloud. The original upstream software description is retained below.

There are no heavy modifications or complex cluster tweaks here. This is just the pure, clean default environment exactly as provided by Elastic. It saves you the time of managing package repositories, downloading huge binaries, and dealing with initial installation scripts.
Whether you need a local sandbox for learning, a quick prototype node for vector searches, or a basic instance to explore standard database features, this boilerplate gets you up and running in minutes.
Security hardening and support
This AMI is Hardened by ThinkCloud with security-focused operating-system configuration and baseline hardening intended to reduce unnecessary exposure and provide a consistent starting point. Review your security groups, IAM permissions, secrets, application settings, and patch levels before production deployment. ThinkCloud support is available for AMI usage and initial configuration.
Marketplace software charges cover seller-performed software and operating-system integration, preparation of included runtime or artifacts, application of the verified hardening baseline, repeatable image construction, and final AMI testing. Support and maintenance are supplementary services and are not the sole basis for the software charges.

SSH to the instance and login as 'ubuntu' using the key specified at launch.
Elasticsearch 9.0 is installed with default configurations. To verify or manage the service, follow these steps:
Switch to root user: sudo su -
Check the service status: systemctl status elasticsearch
Start the service (if not running): systemctl start elasticsearch
Note: As this is a default installation, please refer to the official Elastic documentation to configure cluster security, set credentials, or open ports (like 9200) based on your networking requirements.
