Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type you run this software on. Billing is usage-based, so charges add up only while an instance runs. The 25 options are different AWS instance types, not feature tiers. They span general-purpose (m-series, t-series), compute-optimized (c-series), memory-optimized (r-series), and storage-optimized (i3en) families across several generations. You choose the instance that fits your compute, memory, and storage needs. Larger sizes within a family carry higher hourly rates. All charges appear on your existing AWS bill and can use your AWS commitments.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each rate covers one hour of the software running on that specific EC2 instance. The instance family sets the mix of virtual CPUs, memory, and storage. For example, memory-optimized types (r-series) give more RAM, while storage-optimized (i3en) adds local disk. You pick the size that fits your workload.
Software charges meter running time only. A fully stopped instance stops accruing hourly software charges. Stopped instances may still incur standard AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the software licence bills only while the instance runs.
Billing is usage-based with no upfront commitment. You pay the hourly rate for each hour an instance runs and can stop anytime. This suits variable or short-term workloads. All charges appear on your existing AWS bill and can draw on your AWS commitments or savings plans.
