Midaz is a source-available, cloud-native ledger platform designed for financial services and fintech applications. Deploy a production-ready infrastructure on AWS with Amazon EKS, RDS PostgreSQL, DocumentDB, ElastiCache, and AmazonMQ in minutes. Built for high availability across 3 Availability Zones with enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit, AWS Secrets Manager integration, and least-privilege IAM policies.
Midaz Foundation provides a complete, production-ready infrastructure for deploying the Midaz source-available ledger system on AWS. This CloudFormation-based solution automates the deployment of all required components, enabling financial institutions and fintech companies to launch a robust ledger system in minutes instead of weeks.
Deployment Modes:
Choose the deployment option that fits your needs:
Full Stack: Deploys both infrastructure (EKS, databases, networking) and the Midaz application via Helm in a single CloudFormation stack.
Infrastructure Only: Deploys all AWS infrastructure components (EKS cluster, RDS, DocumentDB, ElastiCache, AmazonMQ, VPC) without the application. Ideal for teams who want to manage the Helm deployment separately.
Application Only: Deploys the Midaz Helm chart to an existing EKS cluster provisioned by the Infrastructure stack. Use this to update or redeploy the application independently.
Infrastructure Components:
Amazon EKS cluster with managed node groups for container orchestration
RDS PostgreSQL with Multi-AZ support for transactional data
Amazon DocumentDB (MongoDB-compatible) for flexible document storage
Amazon ElastiCache (Valkey/Redis) for high-performance caching
Amazon MQ (RabbitMQ) for reliable message queuing
VPC with 3-tier subnet architecture (public, private, database)
AWS Load Balancer Controller and ExternalDNS for traffic management
Enterprise Security:
Customer-managed KMS keys for encryption at rest
TLS/SSL encryption for all data in transit
AWS Secrets Manager for credential management
IAM Roles for Service Accounts (IRSA) for Kubernetes workloads
Security groups following least-privilege principles
VPC endpoints for private AWS API access
High Availability & Scalability:
Multi-AZ deployment across 3 availability zones
Auto-scaling EKS node groups
Database replication and automated backups
Configurable resource sizing for development to enterprise workloads
NOTE - Infrastructure Costs: This product deploys a full AWS stack via CloudFormation including Amazon EKS, RDS PostgreSQL, DocumentDB, ElastiCache, and AmazonMQ. Estimated monthly infrastructure costs vary by region and usage. We recommend reviewing the AWS Pricing Calculator before deploying.

This listing has a single pricing dimension based on the c6i.xlarge instance type, billed by the hour. The software itself is source-available and free to use. You pay for the compute time the ledger runs on, measured in hours on this one instance size. There are no tiers or add-on dimensions to choose from. You run the ledger on your own AWS infrastructure and charges accrue for each hour the instance operates.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What compute resources does the c6i.xlarge hourly rate cover?
The c6i.xlarge is a compute-optimized AWS instance size with 4 virtual CPUs and 8 GB of memory. You are billed for each hour this single instance runs the ledger software on your own AWS infrastructure. Larger or smaller instance sizes are not part of this listing.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off?
Software charges accrue only for hours the c6i.xlarge instance runs. A fully stopped instance does not incur hourly software charges. Underlying AWS storage or other resources may still bill separately while stopped. The software meters running time only.
What ledger capabilities do I get for the hourly compute charge?
You run the source-available Midaz ledger. It handles double-entry accounting, account and balance control, multi-currency support, immutable audit trails, and event-driven triggers. You configure organizations, ledgers, accounts, and transaction rules once, then the ledger processes transactions in real time.

Midaz Full Stack deploys everything needed to run the Midaz source-available ledger system in a single CloudFormation stack. No prerequisites required.
Includes:
VPC with 3-tier subnet architecture across 3 AZs
Amazon EKS cluster with managed node groups
RDS PostgreSQL with Multi-AZ support
Amazon DocumentDB (MongoDB-compatible)
Amazon ElastiCache (Valkey/Redis)
Amazon MQ (RabbitMQ)
AWS Load Balancer Controller and ExternalDNS
Midaz application deployed via Helm
Best for: Single-product deployments where you want everything in one stack.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
