Strapi CMS AMI - Headless API Server with REST & GraphQL on AWS
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance size you run this Strapi CMS software on. The 37 options are not feature tiers—each maps to a specific AWS instance type with different CPU, memory, and performance traits. Your rate scales with the instance you pick. Small options like t2.small and t3.small suit light workloads, while xlarge options such as m7i.xlarge and c6a.xlarge handle heavier loads. Compute-focused (c-series), general-purpose (m-series and t-series), and memory-focused (r-series) families let you match the machine to your needs. The software fee applies on top of standard AWS infrastructure charges.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly rate on each instance option?
Each option runs the pre-configured Strapi CMS software on one AWS EC2 instance of that type. The instance type sets your CPU, memory, and network capacity. For example, t2.small gives light resources, while m7i.xlarge gives more CPU and memory. You pick the size matching your expected workload.
Am I still charged the software fee when I stop the instance?
The hourly software fee meters running time only. When you stop the Strapi instance, the software charge stops accruing. You can restart it later from the EC2 console. Note that stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, which are separate from the software fee.
Does the hourly price include AWS infrastructure costs?
No. The hourly rate covers the Strapi CMS software license for your chosen instance type. Standard AWS charges for compute, storage, and data transfer bill separately. You may also use an S3 bucket for database backups, which carries its own AWS storage cost.

Strapi Deployment with API Driven Content Management Platform
This deployment launches Strapi within a secure virtual infrastructure, providing a reliable environment for content management and API driven applications. The solution includes preconfigured services for secure access, automated backup support, and flexible deployment management. The AMI is preinstalled and configured, allowing users to create content types, manage APIs, and publish digital content immediately after launch. Users can access the administration interface through a web browser and configure custom domains with SSL for secure access. This architecture is designed for scalable content delivery, secure application management, and flexible API based workflows.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."

IAM Role is set up and configured with the necessary permissions to assume the role for the Strapi service. The IAM Policy is created and responsible for accessing Route53 to create Letsencrypt SSL certificates and backing up data to the S3 bucket.
Access the application via a browser at http://<your domain name>/admin or http://<Public IPv4 address>/admin .
Product will try to create SSL certificate when its deploying, if domain hosted on route53. If the automatic SSL creation unsuccesful then you have to point domain name into server ip, ssh into server and run sudo /root/certificate_generate_standalone.sh. Please use port 22 and the username 'ubuntu' for SSH.
Admin email is required for SSL generation.
