You pay by the hour for a pre-built Strapi server image running on AWS. Pricing is usage-based, so you are charged only for the hours each instance runs. The many options here are not tiers or plans. Each one maps to a specific Amazon EC2 instance type, covering a wide range of compute, memory, storage, and GPU capacities. Smaller instances like t2.nano suit light workloads, while larger ones like x1e.32xlarge handle heavier demands. You choose the instance size that fits your needs. The software rate stays the same per hour; costs scale with the instance you select.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
You get a pre-built Strapi server image running on one Amazon EC2 instance of the type you select. The instance provides the compute, memory, storage, and any GPU capacity tied to that EC2 type. You pay for each hour the instance runs.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
The software rate meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes, which are billed by AWS, not by the software rate.
If I switch to a larger EC2 instance type, how does my bill change?
You are billed at the hourly rate tied to whichever instance type is running. Moving to a larger type changes your per-hour cost to that type's rate. The change is not automatic; you choose and launch the instance size you want.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
