CentOS Stream Version Comparison
CentOS Stream 9
Support Lifecycle (EOL): Maintained through May 31, 2027
Target Workloads: Modern cloud-native microservices, next-generation application builds, and environments testing future RHEL 10 platform readiness.
Value-Added Technical Enhancements
Spec-Driven Dynamic Performance Optimization
Upon first boot, the system automatically analyzes the underlying EC2 instance specs and dynamically applies tailored sysctl kernel adjustments, network buffer allocations, and disk I/O parameters.
Note: These automated adjustments provide a general-purpose, high-throughput cloud baseline. System administrators are encouraged to fine-tune specific kernel parameters according to their unique workload demands.
Automated Weekly Build Pipeline & Vulnerability Mitigation
Our continuous integration pipeline rebuilds and validates this AMI weekly, integrating the latest upstream security advisories and critical CVE patches to significantly minimize post-boot update overhead.
Baseline Security Hardening
Pre-configured with essential OS security baselines, a minimized default attack surface, and streamlined network access (OS firewall disabled by default).
Minimal Footprint by Default: To preserve upstream system purity, the avoracloud repository is disabled by default, and only amazon-ssm-agent is pre-installed out of the box.
Testing Notice:Packages are compiled from upstream source releases. We recommend evaluating packages in non-production environments prior to production deployment.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on a fixed subscription cost and actual usage of the product. You pay the same amount each billing period for access, plus an additional amount according to how much you consume. The fixed subscription cost is prorated, so you're only charged for the number of days you've been subscribed. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen AWS instance. Each dimension maps to one ARM64 (Graviton) instance type, from small shared instances up to large multi-core and bare-metal servers. Pricing scales with the instance you select: smaller sizes cost less per hour, while larger sizes and metal options cost more, reflecting their added CPU and memory. There is no upfront commitment. You match the instance family and size to your workload, and you are billed only for the hours you run. Compute, memory, storage, and network-focused families are all available.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What am I paying for beyond the underlying AWS compute charges?
You pay a per-hour software fee for the hardened CentOS Stream 10 ARM64 image. This covers the tuned, security-hardened operating system with a minimized attack surface. The vendor also provides quarterly updates and maintenance for the last three major versions. Your AWS instance and storage costs are billed separately by AWS.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or powered off?
The software fee meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the per-hour software charge. You may still pay AWS for attached storage while the instance is stopped, but that is an AWS charge, not the software fee.
Does the hourly rate change if I switch to a different instance type?
Yes. Each instance type is its own billing dimension with its own hourly rate. If you resize or move to another family, the rate follows the instance you run. You are billed for hours on whichever type is active. No upfront commitment locks you to one type.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Note: For all Avora Linux AMI products, the default login username is ec2-user.
Connect via SSH:
Launch the Instance: Launch an instance from this AMI using the EC2 Console or AWS CLI. Ensure you select a Key Pair during the launch process.
Security Group: Make sure the Security Group attached to the instance allows inbound traffic on TCP port 22 (SSH) from your IP address.
Connect: Open your terminal or SSH client and connect using the default username and your private key file.
The software listing fee covers continuous CI/CD updates, patch integration, baseline security hardening, and enterprise packaging. It does not constitute a managed infrastructure or IT consulting agreement. Vendor support strictly focuses on image integrity, platform initialization, and pre-configured baselines.
For full-scale cloud migration, custom architecture design, or Day-2 operations, customers are encouraged to engage AWS Professional Services or an AWS Certified Partner.
Response SLA: Initial technical triage is provided within 24 to 48 business hours.
In-Scope Support (Platform & Image Integrity)
Boot Diagnostics: EC2 launch integrity, cloud-init failures, hypervisor-level boot verification, and block-device mount topology.
Security Baselines: Conflict resolution for pre-configured OS security baselines, SELinux profiles, and access controls.
Kernel Advisory: Guidance for pre-applied sysctl parameters, spec-driven dynamic optimizations, and network buffer allocations.
Tooling & Repo Integration: Assistance with activating the avoracloud RPM repo, GPG key verification, and pre-integrated AWS utilities (e.g., AWS SSM Agent, Mountpoint for S3).
Out-of-Scope Support (Day-2 & Application Layer)
Ongoing Day-2 Linux administration, user access management, VPC/network customization, and custom shell scripting.
Post-launch installation, integration, workload tuning, or troubleshooting for third-party software.
Direct bug fixes for upstream Linux kernel or distribution packages (handled by official upstream communities).
Private Offers & Custom Contracts
Flexible Billing: Monthly/annual contract options available for long-term volume discounts. Contact sales for custom private offers and enterprise EULAs.
