Platform has boosted site security, accelerated content updates, and improved mobile performance

    Reviewed on Aug 17, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform is that we wanted a security suite that would allow us to manage plugins and WordPress core easily and having also a headless WordPress deployment, so we can decouple the WordPress deployments from the frameworks of JavaScript and other platforms as well.

A quick specific example of how I use WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform for this is that the WordPress ecosystem was included as an acquisition back to developer tool, and we have used advanced custom fields and offline development software. What was important is that the multi-environment workflow used only one-click staging and development environmental creation specifications implemented in a seamless integration.

Day-to-day, it was very important for us to have threat detection features and the daily backups of our websites because we had different projects that were integrated in WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform, and also we wanted a service that cached the web pages so we would be able to do even faster changes and adaptations of the websites by bringing different features. With this solution, it was a great choice for us.

    What is most valuable?

In my opinion, the best features WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform offers include the threat detection and the automated daily backups, which were some of the features that we liked, the block list management, and the WordPress core and plugin updates that were done through the smart plugin manager. The DDoS protection was also very useful, and the integrated caching layer capabilities of serving cached web pages under 100 milliseconds while handling massive concurrent traffic spikes without server crashes was something that was very helpful for us.

The feature I find myself relying on the most is the headless WordPress through Atlas, which was a great feature for us, as well as the security suite and multi-environmental workflow, the advanced developer ecosystems. All of these features helped not only the web developers but also us in digital marketing in updating our websites, creating content faster, and optimizing the applications so they would load on mobile devices to users in an instant.

WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform has positively impacted my organization with results regarding page speed optimizations where the average server response time was reduced from 360 milliseconds to 370 milliseconds globally, resulting in a dramatic improvement in the largest contentful paint and Web Core Vitals leading to SEO performance gains. Also, we had an almost 100% uptime with a 0% error rate during high traffic peaks, and we saw a reduction of 30 to 40% in site maintenance and development troubleshooting overall.

    What needs improvement?

At this point, WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform has helped us tremendously, but there are a few tweaks that might be improved in the sense of dashboard optimizations and maybe the way the documentation is provided to the developers may be done through various platforms. Overall, I do not have any aspects that I think WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform could improve to any significant extent.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform for five years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform is very stable. We had almost 100% uptime with a 0% error rate during high traffic peaks.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We are not planning to scale WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform to other countries, but at this point, we are a pilot for the group.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support is flawless. They helped us tremendously when we needed their support.

    How was the initial setup?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that the implementation was very smooth, with a low to moderate complexity, very accessible for WordPress developers and agency teams we worked with. The subscription was easy to understand, and the pricing was very affordable for our company.

    What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment, with an improvement in ROI of our organic leads by 5% in the last quarter, and there were also a few tens of hours reduced in terms of development during the last quarter as well.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that the implementation was very smooth, with a low to moderate complexity, very accessible for WordPress developers and agency teams we worked with. The subscription was easy to understand, and the pricing was very affordable for our company.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated other options before choosing WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform, including Pantheon and Cloudways.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others looking into using WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform is to evaluate other solutions as well and look first at their business objectives, their use cases, and compare them across different platforms to make a wise business decision. I would rate this product a 9 overall.

    Reliable Hosting with Excellent Support

What do you like best about the product?
I love WP Engine because it provides excellent chat support and makes frequent updates to performance-related tools. This really helps in keeping my website performing at its best. I also appreciate their customer service as they are responsive and helpful. Another feature I like is the performance reports, which help me monitor if we've reached a point where we need to upgrade or if we're fine with our current setup. Setting up WP Engine for other sites has always been straightforward and simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish their log file analysis was more robust. Would love to layer AI analysis on top of it or expand it to more than 24 hours of exports instead of having to ask support for those files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
WP Engine helps solve page speed issues, ensuring my website performs at its best capabilities. Their excellent chat support and performance updates keep my site at the top of its game.

One click local deployments have streamlined client migrations and improved update workflows

    Reviewed on Aug 05, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform is getting clients out of it.

    What is most valuable?

WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform is good overall, except it is somewhat pricey when you add many features to the basic subscription.

The best feature for me was the easy push from Local. I often use Local for local WordPress development, and the ability to push it to the live site on WP Engine with one click is useful, especially when I do not have another pipeline in place. I appreciate the Smart Plugin Manager and the updates with Visual Regression. I did not use WP Engine for an extended period; I only used it for a few months when my clients were migrating out of it. During that short period, those features worked well and saved me some time testing after plugin upgrades.

WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform has not positively impacted my organization much during that short time.

    What needs improvement?

WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform can be improved by considering that for my clients in Poland, when they add many features, the basic pricing is competitive. However, when adding some add-ons, everything becomes paid, such as automatic updates at plus $8 and NitroPack at plus $20, which makes it somewhat pricey for Polish standards.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform for three months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform is stable in my experience.

    How was the initial setup?

I did not set it up; I was only part of migrating out from it.

    What was our ROI?

I am a developer, not a business owner, so I have not seen a return on investment from WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My advice to others looking into using WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform is to check the pricing for every add-on.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before using WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform, my clients evaluated other options for sure, including Acquia DXP.

What other advice do I have?

My clients wanted to resign from WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform due to the drama with Matt Mullenweg and Automattic and the stopping of automatic updates via the WordPress repository.

Regarding WP Engine WordPress Digital Experience Platform's AI capabilities, it appears very solid compared to other businesses in terms of governance and security.

Smooth Onboarding and 24/7 Responsive Support

    Reviewed on Aug 03, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Their support team is helpful and responsive 24/7. Our onboarding experience recently was very smooth and required little work from my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
They are more expensive than some other hosts, but the overall value is still excellent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me, this helps us resolve an issue with a retiring server administrator on our team. WP Engine's team now manages about 80 sites for us and has greatly reduced our internal payroll need.

Best-in-Class Support with Fast Access to Real People

    Reviewed on Aug 02, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The support is the absolute best. I have worked with almost every hosting company and nobody else even comes close. You can get a real person on chat in usually less than 5 minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes if I have a real issue and I reach out to my account manager, they try to upsell me rather than fix the issue. I have also had a dozen account reps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They help with everything big or small. Right now there is an issue with Astra not updating that we are working on.
