Getting Started on AWS
- Launch the prebuilt Wowza AMI in any EC2 region - start with a large instance size (c5.large or m5.large), or a GPU instance (g4dn.4xlarge) for transcoding-heavy workloads
- Configure your security group to open required streaming ports
- Access the Wowza Streaming Engine Manager web interface

How has it helped my organization?
A specific example where using Wowza Streaming Cloud made a clear, positive difference for our organization is that the main benefit for us has been peace of mind, having a platform that was top-tier when we started and continues to deliver consistent results for our business today.
What is most valuable?
Wowza Streaming Cloud allows us to easily integrate multiple streams with different device sizes, supports multiple transcode versions for poor connections, and lets producers manage streams seamlessly without disruption. Streaming and viewership has increased as a result.
What needs improvement?
There is one main area for improvement, and that is pricing. I have been providing solutions to my clients across the world via Upwork. Every client was willing to implement Wowza Streaming Cloud, but its price is a bit unfair. It could be more cost-effective.

I rate Wowza Streaming Cloud five out of five on a scale of one to five. I give Wowza Streaming Cloud a five out of five because it can handle multiple streams at once with transcoded versions, ensuring nobody misses a broadcast even if their data or internet is poor. I also appreciate the easy integration of multiple streams to the same server, which allows our producer to take over a stream if a client fails to connect without disruption.
My experience with the configuration process was very smooth. Wowza Streaming Cloud integrates with other AWS services I use smoothly and seamlessly.
My experience with the procurement process was very easy, as the purchase process was smooth when purchasing it in AWS Marketplace and we never encountered any issues. The metering and billing experience I have is easy to understand and accurate.

Powerful Automation, But Bugs and Cumbersome Multi-Platform Streaming
Also, streaming to alternate sources, such as social media platforms and/or YouTube, is cumbersome.
Awful Upgrades and Out-of-Memory Crashes Under Heavy Load
It provides reliable streams at medium and low usage levels.
Under heavy load the entire server can crash with a out of memory error. There is no obvious attempt to mitigate this problem; all your streams die.
