utobo email combines a transactional email API, marketing campaigns, and lifecycle automation in one platform. Send via REST API or SMTP, run broadcast campaigns to your contact lists, and build multi-step automated sequences, all against one contact graph, with an AI writer that drafts subject lines and full email bodies. Built on Amazon SES with custom domain authentication, suppression handling, and sending reputation monitoring.
utobo email is an email platform for startups that need transactional and marketing email in one place, instead of paying for and integrating two separate tools.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Transactional email API
Send via a REST API or an SMTP relay. Official SDKs for Node.js, Python, Go, PHP, and Ruby. Attachments, CC/BCC, and custom headers are supported. Every send is recorded with full delivery logs and error reporting. Rate limits are 100 requests/minute per API key and 500 requests/minute per organization.
Marketing campaigns
A four-step composer (setup, design, recipients, preview) with both a visual editor and a raw HTML editor. Ten starter templates plus your own saved template gallery. Send to contact lists, imported CSV/Excel files, or pasted addresses. Schedule sends or send immediately. Includes a media library and stock photo picker.
Lifecycle automation
Multi-step drip sequences and an automation engine triggered by list subscription, subscriber tags, or API calls.
AI email writer
Generates a subject line and a complete HTML body from a single sentence, and suggests alternative subject lines. Works across transactional, broadcast, and automated sequences. Powered by Google Gemini.
Deliverability
Built on Amazon SES. Add your own sending domains with guided SPF, DKIM, and DMARC setup, verified automatically. Includes suppression lists, tokenized per-recipient unsubscribe links, bounce and complaint handling, and open/click tracking. A sending reputation dashboard monitors bounce and complaint rates per account, with thresholds set deliberately tighter than the underlying platform's, so problems surface as warnings before they become suspensions. Optional list verification is available for cleaning contact lists before a send.
Team and access
Multiple users per organization with owner, admin, and member roles, invitations, two-factor authentication, and scoped API keys with permissions and one-time display.
PLANS
Three tracks. Transactional is metered on emails per month. Promotional is metered on contacts, with unlimited broadcast sends. All-in-One includes both quotas at a lower combined price than buying the two separately. Each track has Starter, Pro, and Scale feature tiers, which set the number of sending domains (3, 10, or 100), delivery log retention (1, 3, or 5 years), and support level.
Contracts are available on monthly or annual terms. Annual contracts are priced at a 20% discount to twelve monthly terms.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You buy a contract in one of three tracks. Transactional prices by monthly email volume, from 10K up to 2.5M sends. Promotional prices by marketing contact count, from 2,500 up to 250,000, with unlimited broadcast sends. All-in-One bundles both an email volume and a contact allowance on one contract. Within each track, higher volumes map to support tiers: Starter adds ticket support, Pro adds Slack and ticket support, Scale adds priority support. Sending domains and delivery log retention also grow with tier: 3, 10, or 100 domains and 1, 3, or 5 years of logs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
On the Promotional track, does my bill change if I send more campaigns each month?
No. Promotional pricing bills by your marketing contact count, not by how many campaigns you send. Each contract includes unlimited broadcast sends within your contact allowance, subject to fair-use and sending policies. Campaign frequency never changes the price. Transactional email is metered separately.
On the All-in-One track, how do the email volume and contact allowances combine on one contract?
Each All-in-One contract pairs a fixed monthly transactional email volume with a fixed marketing contact allowance. Both metrics are bundled into one price on a single bill. Transactional sends are metered per email; promotional is metered per contact with unlimited sends. You pick the tier matching both your app volume and list size.
What exactly counts as one transactional email versus one marketing contact for billing?
A transactional email is a single message your app sends through the REST API or SMTP relay, such as a receipt, password reset, or notification. A marketing contact is one person on your promotional list, counted regardless of how many broadcasts you send them. The two metrics are billed separately.
