URL Parameters (Options)
Default units are in Metric. Users may specify the "units" URL parameter to change from metric to imperial via "&units=imperial". Units will be converted as follows:
Celsius -> Fahrenheit
KM -> Miles
mm/hr -> inches / hr
m/s -> mph (miles/hr)
Example:
"lat=-33.871473&lon=151.028290&units=imperial"
CLI Request Syntax
The following is the syntax to use if you wish to use the aws CLI tool to submit a request to this API.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing uses a contract pricing model with one dimension: Product Access (Units). You buy access units that grant use of the Daily Weather Forecast API for the contract term. Pricing scales with the number of units you commit to, rather than by data type or feature level. There are no separate tiers or add-ons on the Marketplace. All access runs through this single dimension, so your cost depends on the unit quantity you select.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one unit of Product Access grant me?
A unit grants access to the Daily Weather Forecast API for your contract term. Through this API you retrieve daily forecasts out to 16 days, covering fields such as temperature, precipitation, snowfall, solar irradiance, UV, and weather conditions. Access covers the API endpoint, not a metered count of individual requests.
What happens if I stop actively calling the API during my term?
Access is subscription-based and runs for the full contract term regardless of how often you call it. Your cost is tied to the units you commit to, not to actual request activity. Idle periods do not lower or raise the committed cost during the term.
Can I store the forecast data I retrieve from the API?
Local storage is allowed while your access subscription is active, including storage with cloud providers. If the subscription ends, stored API data must be deleted unless you separately purchased data with ownership rights. This affects how you plan data retention around your contract term.
