URL Parameters (Options)
Default units are in Metric. Users may specify the "units" URL parameter to change from metric to imperial via "&units=imperial". Units will be converted as follows:
Celsius -> Fahrenheit
KM -> Miles
mm/hr -> inches / hr
m/s -> mph (miles/hr)
Example:
"lat=-33.871473&lon=151.028290&units=imperial"
CLI Request Syntax
The following is the syntax to use if you wish to use the aws CLI tool to submit a request to this API.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing uses a single contract pricing dimension: Product Access (Units). You buy access to the Hourly Weather Forecast API through this one dimension, priced per unit for the contract term. There are no separate tiers, instance sizes, or usage add-ons to combine. Your cost scales with the number of units you subscribe to. Access covers hourly forecasts out to 240 hours (10 days). Because pricing follows one unit-based dimension, you select the quantity that matches your needs rather than choosing among different plans.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What data does the Product Access (Units) dimension actually deliver?
It grants access to the Hourly Weather Forecast API. You retrieve hourly forecasts out to 240 hours, which is 10 days. Fields include temperature, precipitation, wind, humidity, cloud cover, and conditions. Forecasts refresh once per hour in most locations, drawn from a blend of global and regional weather models.
Does my cost change if I query the API more or less within the contract?
The dimension grants access for the contract term rather than metering each request. You select the number of units up front, and your cost reflects that quantity. Querying less does not lower the committed cost, and idle periods do not reduce it. Higher request needs mean selecting more units.
How often does the forecast data update, and does that affect what I pay?
Forecasts refresh once per hour in most locations. This refresh rate is part of the access you buy and does not change your cost. Your bill depends on the number of units you subscribe to, not on how frequently the underlying data updates or how often you call it.
