Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the security agent running on Ubuntu 24, billed per EC2 instance type you choose. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS instance size, from small general-purpose types like t2.nano up to large compute, memory, storage, and GPU instances such as c7i, r7iz, x2iedn, and p5.48xlarge. The hourly software rate scales with the instance you run, so heavier instances cost more per hour. You run the instance only when needed, with no upfront commitment. One unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select, billed per hour. The security agent runs on Ubuntu 24 on that instance. Each instance you launch meters its own hours separately, so running several instances adds each one's hourly rate to your bill.
The hourly software charge applies only while the instance runs. Stopped or paused instances do not accrue software charges. You may still pay underlying AWS fees, such as storage for the stopped instance, but the agent meters running hours only.
The hourly software rate is tied to the instance type you choose. Small types like t2.nano carry a lower rate; large compute, memory, storage, or GPU types such as p5.48xlarge or x2iedn.metal carry higher rates. You pick the type that fits your workload.
