You pay by the hour for a hardened Ubuntu 24 image, billed per running instance. There is no upfront commitment and no fixed term. The software price is set per EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the instance you choose when you launch. Options span many instance families, including general purpose, compute, memory, storage, GPU, and high-performance types, across a wide range of sizes. Larger or more specialized instances carry a different hourly software rate than smaller ones. Your total cost scales with how many instances you run and how long each runs.

You pay for a hardened Ubuntu 24 image that ships with updates, firewall rules, and network protocols configured. You launch it with one click on AWS. The hourly rate covers this packaged software only. AWS compute, storage, and network charges for the instance are billed separately by AWS.
The software rate meters running instance-hours. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay AWS for attached storage while the instance is stopped. Charges resume once the instance runs again.
Yes. The software price is set per EC2 instance type. Each type carries its own hourly software rate. If you move your workload to another instance type, your rate changes to match that type. Running more instances adds each one's rate to your bill.
