This reflects the vendor's hourly software charge for running Ubuntu 24 with a bundled security agent. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs, with no upfront commitment. Choose the instance family and size that fits your workload.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You get an Ubuntu 24 operating system image with a bundled security agent, pre-installed and ready to launch on AWS. The image includes updates, firewall configuration, and network protocols. You run it on the EC2 instance type you select, and the hourly software charge applies on top of AWS compute costs.
The hourly software charge applies only while an instance runs. Stopped or powered-off instances do not accrue the software fee. Note that underlying AWS storage charges may still apply to stopped instances, but the vendor's hourly software rate meters running time only.
Each instance type maps to its own hourly software rate. When you move a workload to a different instance type, billing switches to that type's rate for the hours it runs. There is no upfront commitment, so you can change instance families or sizes as your workload needs shift.
