Overview
Developed after more than 20 years of research, ASAM CONTINUUM is the only digital assessment authorized by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) to produce an accurate ASAM dimensional assessment and level of care recommendation. The ASAM CONTINUUM suite of assessments integrates data from ASAM's latest clinical standards and assessments, while also integrating into existing electronic health record systems, to promote enhanced effectiveness of treatment planning and care coordination.
The ASAM CONTINUUM suite, developed based on the ASAM Criteria, includes the comprehensive ASAM CONTINUUM assessment, CO-Triage screener and the ASAM CONTINUUM-RISE for individuals within institutional care (e.g., corrections, residential treatment).
With CONTINUUM, clinicians have the ability to:
- Conduct a comprehensive biopsychosocial patient risk and needs assessment based on all six ASAM Criteria Dimensions
- Determine the ASAM Criteria Level of Care recommendation, including continued stay and transfer recommendations
- Obtain Addiction Severity Index (ASI) Severity Subscale Composite Scores: Medical, Alcohol, Drug, Psychological, Employment, Family/Social and Legal
- Complete Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessments (CIWA) and Clinical Institute Narcotic Assessments (CINA)
- Organize all critical information for effective managed care evaluations
FEI offers access to the ASAM CONTINUUM suite of assessments through integrated electronic health records (EHRs) or through the FEI-provided C-WITS portal.
