The ASAM CONTINUUM is a comprehensive assessment that helps clinicians organize treatment priorities and recommend the least intensive, but most safe, efficient and effective care placement.
Developed after more than 20 years of research, ASAM CONTINUUM is the only digital assessment authorized by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) to produce an accurate ASAM dimensional assessment and level of care recommendation. The ASAM CONTINUUM suite of assessments integrates data from ASAM's latest clinical standards and assessments, while also integrating into existing electronic health record systems, to promote enhanced effectiveness of treatment planning and care coordination.
The ASAM CONTINUUM suite, developed based on the ASAM Criteria, includes the comprehensive ASAM CONTINUUM assessment, CO-Triage screener and the ASAM CONTINUUM-RISE for individuals within institutional care (e.g., corrections, residential treatment).
With CONTINUUM, clinicians have the ability to:
Conduct a comprehensive biopsychosocial patient risk and needs assessment based on all six ASAM Criteria Dimensions
Determine the ASAM Criteria Level of Care recommendation, including continued stay and transfer recommendations
Obtain Addiction Severity Index (ASI) Severity Subscale Composite Scores: Medical, Alcohol, Drug, Psychological, Employment, Family/Social and Legal
Complete Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessments (CIWA) and Clinical Institute Narcotic Assessments (CINA)
Organize all critical information for effective managed care evaluations
FEI offers access to the ASAM CONTINUUM suite of assessments through integrated electronic health records (EHRs) or through the FEI-provided C-WITS portal.
Highlights
Research Based. The ASAM CONTINUUM assessment provides clinicians with the most accurate, research-based, recommended level of care for their patients based on the ASAM Criteria.
Integrations. Our solution offers integration with electronic health records (EHRs) so that clinicians may access and complete the ASAM CONTINUUM for their patients from within their own EHR. More than 30 industry leading EHRs have integrated, with that number growing.
Quick Adoption. Provider organizations can quickly obtain access to the ASAM CONTINUUM assessment, ASAM CO-Triage screener and ASAM CONTINUUM - RISE through their integrated EHR or through a streamlined front-end portal offered by FEI.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You buy this suite through three separate annual subscription fees, each billed as units under a contract. ASAM CONTINUUM covers the structured, full assessment used across a client's treatment journey. CO-Triage covers the abbreviated screener that sets a preliminary level of care in urgent situations. CWITS Access covers access to that system. Each line is priced independently, so you select and pay for the components your program needs. Quantity is set per unit, and all three renew on an annual term.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What is the difference between the ASAM CONTINUUM assessment and the CO-Triage screener I pay for?
ASAM CONTINUUM is the structured, full assessment used from intake through discharge to guide substance use disorder treatment. CO-Triage is an abbreviated screener that sets a preliminary level of care in urgent situations. It is used mainly by urgent care centers, call centers, court coordinators, and law enforcement.
Do I have to buy all three subscription lines together, or can I choose only what I need?
Each line is priced independently. You pay a separate annual subscription fee for ASAM CONTINUUM, CO-Triage, and CWITS Access. You select and pay only for the components your program uses. If you add another line later, it carries its own quantity and annual term.
How does cost behave when my program grows and needs more assessment capacity during the year?
Each dimension bills by units under the annual contract. You set the quantity per line at purchase. Cost scales with the number of units you commit to for each component. Changing quantity mid-term is not described in the available data, so contact the vendor for expansion details.
