Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for this hardened RHEL 9 STIG image, billed per running instance. Pricing is not one flat rate. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, from small general-purpose sizes like t2.nano up to memory, compute, storage, GPU, and bare-metal instances. Your hourly software charge scales with the instance type you select, so heavier compute or memory options cost more per hour. You choose the instance that fits your workload, and you are billed only for the hours it runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you pick. The image is preconfigured to STIG standards, the same hardening baseline the military uses. You get RHEL 9 set up for STIG compliance from first boot, so your applications run on compliant systems immediately.
The software charge meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue hourly software fees. Note that underlying AWS storage or other AWS resource charges may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from this listing's per-hour software charge.
Cost is driven by two things: the instance type you select and the hours it runs. Each dimension maps to one instance type with its own hourly rate. Heavier compute, memory, storage, GPU, or bare-metal options carry higher hourly rates. Running fewer hours lowers your total regardless of type.
