Each rate maps to a specific EC2 instance type you choose, from small general-purpose sizes up to large compute, memory, storage, and GPU instances. The rate scales with the instance type you select, since larger instances carry higher hourly rates. You run only what you need and stop paying when instances stop. This usage model requires no upfront commitment or fixed term.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly rate covers the Fedora 42 machine image plus vendor support for the instance type you pick. It does not include the EC2 compute charge itself. AWS bills the instance separately. Your total combines this software rate with the standard AWS charge for that instance type.
The software rate meters running instance-hours. When you stop an instance, the hourly software charge stops too. You pay only while instances run. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from this software rate.
Each rate maps to one EC2 instance type. Larger instances with more compute, memory, storage, or GPU capacity carry higher hourly software rates. You choose the instance type that fits your workload, and the rate follows that choice. Switching to a different type changes the rate you pay.
