I truly appreciate Panopto for its exceptional ease of use, which makes it accessible and straightforward for everyone from faculty to students. Its user-friendly nature is a highlight, allowing seamless navigation and interaction that greatly enhances the user experience. Additionally, Panopto offers comprehensive training and learning materials, which I find incredibly beneficial for both onboarding and continuous learning. These resources help us get the most out of the platform efficiently and effectively. The platform’s modern and clean interface adds to its appeal, presenting a more up-to-date and clutter-free environment. I also appreciate the superior hosting capabilities of Panopto, providing us with ample space and a better hosting situation which significantly improves the ability to store and manage our video content effectively.

What do you dislike about the product?

I find the process of SSO creation and migration challenging and somewhat difficult. It doesn't operate smoothly, especially for administrators. I believe there should be a more efficient system for migrating data from an old site to Panopto to make the transition easier. Another aspect I dislike involves the dual login system for admins and creators/viewers, which currently requires toggling between accounts. This could be streamlined to enhance usability. Additionally, as an admin, I face inconvenience because the lack of SSO option forces me to enter my username and password repeatedly instead of utilizing a single sign-on feature. These areas could be significantly improved to enhance the overall experience.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I find Panopto provides a modern, user-friendly video hosting platform, making it easier for faculty, staff, and students to engage with video content. It allows us to deliver more videos to students efficiently, improving classroom engagement.

What do you like best about the product?

All the in built features like Editor, online reocrder without need to install the program, the Panopto Support is helpful too usually I will get my reply within a day without too much waiting.

What do you dislike about the product?

A lot of the enhanced features are behind a paid wall meaning we need to pay for more for these enhancement, just curious if the features is behind paid wall how would people be able to use or test these new features? Without user testing won't these new features means nothing to user?

Did Panopto like consider granting institutions like a one semester (6 months) worth of such features for free so that institution can invite their educators to use or test these new features, honestly speaking if no one wants to test or use your new features because of the paid wall needed to access it, it's very hard for the education institution to justify paying for it if no user wants to use these enhanced features.

There are still some issues with 2FA for single sign on.
