Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. Every dimension maps to a specific AWS ARM-based (Graviton) EC2 instance type running Docker on a hardened Ubuntu 24.04 image. Pricing scales with the size and class of instance you choose. General-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and graphics families are all covered, from small sizes up to metal instances. Larger instances within a family cost more per hour because they provide more capacity. You select the instance type that fits your workload and pay only for the hours it runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One hour maps to one running EC2 instance of the type you select. The rate covers the hardened Ubuntu 24.04 image with Docker on ARM-based (Graviton) hardware. You are billed for each hour that instance runs, counted per active instance.
The software rate meters running hours only. A stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software charge. Underlying AWS resources, such as attached storage, may still incur separate AWS fees while the instance is stopped. Restarting the instance resumes the hourly charge.
The image is hardened, meaning it is configured to reduce system vulnerabilities against threats like unauthorized data access and denial of service. It follows recognized secure configuration standards. Docker is preinstalled. This hardening applies to every instance type, so it does not change how the hourly rate is calculated.
