The AI investments by cloud hyperscalers continued growing their public IP pools at a torrid pace. In the continental US, AWS's us-west-2, us-east-2 and the nascent us-south-1 saw large buildouts in public IP assignments. AWS's EU regions eu-south-1 , eu-central-1, eu-west-2, and `eu-south-2...

Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
No contracted monthly base charge -- pay only for what you use. The right choice if you are evaluating, prototyping, or testing and don't yet know your production volume. Each unit = 1,000 API requests. Billing estimate: requests_per_month / 1,000 = units billed. For example: 5,000 test calls = 5 units billed on your next AWS invoice.

Startup
A low-cost, no-frills entry point for production workloads with predictable, moderate traffic. Includes 30,000 API requests/month (30 units) at a fixed $99/month. Note: does not include assured support response times or SOC 2 attestation -- see Business or Corporate if you need either. Overage is calculated monthly and billed on the following month's AWS invoice -- even on 12-month contracts. If your usage stays within 30,000 requests, no overage is charged that month. Overage estimate: (requests_per_month / 1,000) - 30 = additional units billed. For example: 50,000 calls: (50,000 / 1,000) - 30 = 20 additional units billed.

$2.00/unit
Business
Standard Email Support with a Next Business Day response guarantee, and 300,000 API requests/month (300 units) included. The right step up from Startup if your monthly volume exceeds 30K requests or your team needs assured support response times. Note: does not include SOC 2 attestation -- see Corporate if your organization requires compliance documentation. Overage is calculated monthly and billed on the following month's AWS invoice -- even on 12-month contracts. If your usage stays within 300,000 requests, no overage is charged that month. Overage estimate: (requests_per_month / 1,000) - 300 = additional units billed. For example, 500,000 calls implies (500,000 / 1,000) - 300 = 200 additional units.

$1.80/unit
Corporate
Priority Email Support with a Same Business Day response guarantee, SOC 2 attestation, and 1,000,000 API requests/month (1,000 units) included. Designed for organizations with enterprise procurement standards, security compliance requirements, or high-volume production workloads. Overage is calculated monthly and billed on the following month's AWS invoice -- even on 12-month contracts. If your usage stays within 1,000,000 requests, no overage is charged that month. Overage estimate: (requests_per_month / 1,000) - 1,000 = additional units billed. For example: 1,500,000 calls: (1,500,000 / 1,000) - 1,000 = 500 additional units billed.
You pick one of four billing options for this IP geolocation API, all priced in units of 1,000 API requests. Pay-As-You-Go has no monthly base charge; you pay only for requests used. Startup, Business, and Corporate each carry a fixed monthly fee with a set number of included requests: 30,000, 300,000, and 1,000,000 respectively. Going past your included requests triggers overage, billed per unit on the following month's AWS invoice, even under 12-month contracts. Higher tiers add support response guarantees, and Corporate adds SOC 2 attestation. Choose based on expected monthly volume and support needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one billable unit for this API?
One unit equals 1,000 API requests. Each request is a single call to look up IP geolocation data, returning details like city, region, country, and coordinates. Your monthly requests divide by 1,000 to give units billed. For example, 5,000 calls equals 5 units.
What happens to my bill if I exceed the included requests in Startup, Business, or Corporate?
Requests past your included amount become overage units, each equal to 1,000 requests. Overage is calculated monthly and added to the following month's AWS invoice, even on 12-month contracts. If you stay within your included requests that month, no overage applies. The included amount does not roll over.
How does Pay-As-You-Go billing differ from the fixed monthly plans?
Pay-As-You-Go has no monthly base charge; you pay only for units used, which suits testing or unknown volume. Startup, Business, and Corporate charge a fixed monthly fee with a set number of included requests, then bill overage per unit. Fixed plans suit predictable, ongoing production traffic.

Review from a verified AWS customer
Fastah provides highly accurate city, region, and country data. Plus, it even gives us additional details like ISP and timezone information, which have been useful for analytics. The API response time is impressively fast, even under heavy loads. We rely on real-time data for customizing our content based on user location, and this API consistently delivers without any noticeable latency.

Fastah API is easy to use and accurate
Reviewed on Nov 22, 2022
Review from a verified AWS customer
Fastah API was straightforward to integrate and has been reliable since. Over time we have measured the accuracy against known IP locations and found it to be amazingly accurate. There are so many rural places that can be way off in other API. Fastah API does a great job even in these rural geographies. We have also measured performance and found it to be excellent for our medium volume scenarios. All in all, we have a had an excellent experience with Fastah API and continue to use it.
