This cloud-native operating system offers advanced kernel optimizations and a rich software ecosystem, ensuring reliability for your scaled applications on AWS.
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for extended support.
This product is an AWS AMI (Amazon Machine Image) built upon openEuler, a leading open-source, enterprise-grade Linux distribution. It is designed to provide a high-performance, secure, and cloud-optimized operating system solution for diverse computing scenarios.
Through deep kernel-level optimizations and systematic security hardening, we ensure that instances are in an optimal state upon launch. This image is fully compatible with multiple CPU architectures, including x86 and ARM (AWS Graviton), ensuring reliability for mission-critical workloads.
Technical Specifications & Compatibility
Boot & Compatibility Optimization To ensure seamless performance and reliable booting within the AWS infrastructure (where TPCM is not present), this image is specifically configured to use Legacy BIOS instead of UEFI. By pairing this with a GPT partition table, we provide full support for high-capacity storage volumes exceeding 2TB, ensuring a stable and scalable experience for enterprise users.
System and Partition Configuration The system supports both Standard Partitioning and LVM (Logical Volume Management) layouts. The root filesystem is available in either ext4 or XFS formats. Each image is rigorously optimized for performance and stability based on its respective filesystem structure.
Note: Please refer to the Product Title to confirm the specific partition layout and filesystem type for this version.
Key Features
Automatic Performance Tuning: Upon startup, the system automatically applies a suite of lightweight kernel optimizations tailored to the detected instance type. These adjustments span compute, storage, and network layers to ensure peak efficiency.
Security & AWS Integration: The system comes pre-integrated with the AWS Systems Manager Agent (SSM Agent), enabling secure, credential-free management and automated operations.
Firewall Configuration: For maximum out-of-the-box accessibility, the OS firewall is disabled by default, allowing users to define their own security boundaries via AWS Security Groups.
Flexible Disk Layouts: Offers a variety of filesystem (Ext4/XFS) and partition (LVM/Standard) combinations to match your workload requirements-ensure to check the Product Title for the specific version details.

Support & Lifecycle Commitment
Professional Technical Support We provide multiple support channels, including email and a comprehensive knowledge base. Our support covers OS configuration, functionality, and AWS compatibility issues. For upstream software bugs, we assist in developing mitigations and escalating issues to the open-source community.
Maintenance & Updates
Quarterly Updates: Regular image refreshes at least once every quarter.
Security First: Critical vulnerabilities (CVEs) are addressed with high-priority updates.
Version Retention: We maintain the last three major versions to ensure deployment continuity.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on a fixed subscription cost and actual usage of the product. You pay the same amount each billing period for access, plus an additional amount according to how much you consume. The fixed subscription cost is prorated, so you're only charged for the number of days you've been subscribed. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for this openEuler 24.03 Minimal image, billed per running EC2 instance. Pricing is not tiered. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, and your rate follows the instance you choose. General-purpose, compute, memory, storage, GPU, and high-performance families are all supported, from small shared instances up to bare-metal and multi-terabyte sizes. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates than smaller ones in the same family. You select the instance size that fits your workload and pay only for the hours it runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What am I paying for beyond the base openEuler operating system in the hourly rate?
The hourly rate covers the vendor's performance-tuned openEuler 24.03 Minimal image. The vendor tunes kernel parameters, I/O schedulers, and TCP stacks for the AWS Nitro System, ships a minimized attack surface, and provides mitigation and bug escalation. Quarterly updates and maintenance apply to the last three major versions.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when my EC2 instance is stopped?
The software rate meters running instance-hours only. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay underlying AWS storage fees for the attached volumes while the instance is stopped, but that is separate from the per-hour software rate.
Does one hourly dimension cover several instances, or do I pay per instance?
Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type, and you pay per running instance at that instance's rate. Running multiple instances means each one bills its own hourly rate. Costs add across all running instances, so total cost scales with the number and size of instances you launch.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
