Try this product free for 7 days according to the free trial terms set by the vendor. Usage-based pricing is in effect for usage beyond the free trial terms. Your free trial gets automatically converted to a paid subscription when the trial ends, but may be canceled any time before that.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. The 31 dimensions map to different instance families and sizes, so your rate scales with the compute you choose. The t2, t3, and t3a families cover general-purpose workloads across small, medium, large, xlarge, and 2xlarge sizes. The m4, m5, and m5d families add more memory and compute for larger workloads. The c5d family targets compute-intensive use, while r5d instances target memory-intensive use. Larger sizes within a family carry higher hourly rates. You pay only for the hours your chosen instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover, and does the AWS instance cost come separately?
The hourly rate covers the CData API Server software licence on your chosen EC2 instance type. Your bill scales with the instance family and size you run. Underlying AWS EC2 infrastructure charges are billed by AWS separately from the software rate shown here.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges meter running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the software licence bills active running time. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
How do I choose between instance families like t3, m5, c5d, and r5d?
Match the family to your workload. The t2, t3, and t3a families handle general-purpose use. The m4, m5, and m5d families add memory and compute. The c5d family suits compute-intensive work, and r5d suits memory-intensive work. Your hourly rate follows the family and size chosen.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Running the CData API Server in EC2 is easy. Simply launch a new API Server AMI from EC2, and configure the EC2 instance type, instance details, volume, tags, and security group. The last step of the process will prompt you to create a new key-pair, or select an existing one.
Once the instance has been launched, it will be listed in your EC2 running instances. You can then access the API Server through your browser at the URL: https://instance_public_DNS
In order to log-in, the default username is "admin", and the password is the instance's randomly generated Instance-ID, which you can find from the EC2 Management Console. After agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, you will be able to create connections and configure your APIs. For advanced configurations, refer to the documentation or contact support@cdata.com.
