Try this product free for 5 days according to the free trial terms set by the vendor. Usage-based pricing is in effect for usage beyond the free trial terms. Your free trial gets automatically converted to a paid subscription when the trial ends, but may be canceled any time before that.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for a pre-built machine image that bundles the operating system, web servers, database, and application servers together. There are no long-term contracts. Pricing scales by the AWS EC2 instance type you choose, so all 25 dimensions charge per hour of runtime. The instance families differ in balance of compute, memory, and processor generation. Compute-focused types (c-series) suit heavier processing. General-purpose types (m-series and t-series) balance cost and capacity. Memory-focused types (r-series) fit workloads needing more RAM. Larger sizes within each family raise the hourly rate. Choose the size that matches your workload.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What software is included in the hourly rate for this machine image?
The rate bundles the operating system, WebLogic, an HTML server, an AIS server, the database, an enterprise server, and a deployment server. The base software comes pre-deployed, so you get immediate access with no separate installation or hardware to set up.
Am I charged when the EC2 instance is stopped or powered off?
The software charge meters running instance-hours, so stopped instances stop accruing hourly software fees. You may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for the stopped instance. The metering follows the hours the instance actually runs.
Does the hourly rate lock me into any long-term contract?
No. This option meters actual instance-hours with no upfront commitment and no long-term contract. You pay only for the hours the chosen instance runs. This suits testing or variable workloads where you spin the environment up and tear it down as needed.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
