What do you like best about the product?
The tool provides a lot of security and usability. We have never had any problems with security breaches.

So far, no problems to report, all demands were very well met.

While IBM Guardium Data Protection is a powerful and comprehensive solution, one challenge I’ve noticed is its initial setup and configuration complexity. For teams without prior experience, the learning curve can be steep — especially when deploying it across hybrid or multi-cloud environments. It often requires skilled resources to fine-tune policies and ensure optimal performance."

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about IBM Guardium is it's ability to monitor all database activities in real time without impacting performance. It gives detailed visibility into who is accessing sensitive data and helps enforcing security policies immediately.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about IBM guardium is that it's interface seems outdated and complex for new users. Also licensing and pricing is a bit high.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Guardium helps solve the problem of unauthorized data access and data breaches by continously monitoring who is accessing sensitive information. This has benefitted me by tracking data access and is easier to detect and respond quickly.

Initial setup and policy configuration can be complex and time-consuming, especially in heterogeneous environments. The user interface could also be more intuitive for first-time users.

IBM Guardium Data Protection helps us address critical data security challenges such as unauthorized access, data leakage, and compliance with regulations like GDPR and HIPAA. By providing real-time monitoring, auditing, and automated alerts, it enables us to proactively detect threats, streamline audit processes, and ensure that sensitive data is protected across databases and cloud environments. What do you like best about the product?
IBM Guardium has been really helpful for keeping an eye on who’s accessing our sensitive data. I like that it works well with different types of databases, both on-prem and in the cloud, which is important since we use a mix of both. It also comes with ready-made templates for things like GDPR and PCI-DSS, which made compliance checks a lot easier for us. One of the best parts is how it alerts us about unusual user behavior, it actually helped us spot a few things early before they became serious issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup and configuration can be quite complex, especially for smaller teams or those without prior experience with IBM tools. There's a definite learning curve, and some features are deeply nested, making them harder to access until you're more familiar with the platform. Also, the licensing and infrastructure costs are relatively high, which might be a challenge for startups or small companies. Lastly, some of the performance reports can lag during high-load periods, so resource optimization is important.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Guardium helps us track and monitor who is accessing important or sensitive data, especially in environments where we have multiple databases running. It gives us visibility into database activity, which is super useful for security and compliance. Before using it, it was tough to catch issues unless someone reported them manually. Now, we get alerts for unusual behavior, which helps us respond faster. It’s also made audit and compliance checks much less stressful.
