Pulse Secure® Virtual Traffic Manager with Web Application Firewall is a high performance software-based application delivery controller designed to deliver faster, secure & reliable access to web sites & applications. Highly portable, it can be deployed in all major clouds & hybrid environments.
Pulse Secure® Virtual Traffic Manager with Web Application Firewall is a high-performance Load Balancer & application delivery controller designed to deliver fast, secure & more reliable access to web sites & applications & offers HA via active-active deployment. Highly portable, it can be deployed across all major clouds and hybrid environments. It controls & optimizes end-user services by inspecting, transforming, prioritizing & routing application traffic, with full payload inspection & streaming. It applies a range of optimization techniques to ensure that incoming requests are presented in the most appropriate manner to the back end servers. Responses from the application can be compressed, cached & returned to the client at optimum speed while freeing up resources on the server. The Pulse Virtual Web Application Firewall (vWAF) surrounds your applications with a strong security perimeter that establishes a secure session identifier, proactively encrypts cookies & URLs & applies site usage enforcement. Signatures & ID tools block SQL injection & cross-site scripting by securing common vulnerabilities. Receive real-time alerts & reports on attack trends, application behavior & more for full audit tracking & logging. You can test ruleset suggestions in shadow mode prior to enforcing behavior & improve performance by creating white and black lists. The vWAF helps meet PCI-DSS 6.6 requirements. Only the 18.3 version (or later) can be deployed on the nitro instance types.
Highlights
Security: Defend against common application vulnerabilities such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting, etc. Proactively secure applications with a strong security perimeter that creates a secure session ID and applies site usage enforcement.
Speed and Reliability: Accelerate services, increase capacity, and reduce costs by offloading performance-draining tasks such as SSL and compression and improve application availability by intelligently distributing traffic.
Ease of management: Virtual Traffic Manager makes it easy to manage how users interact with applications and the infrastructure those applications depend on.

Try this product free for 30 days according to the free trial terms set by the vendor. Usage-based pricing is in effect for usage beyond the free trial terms. Your free trial gets automatically converted to a paid subscription when the trial ends, but may be canceled any time before that.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the AWS EC2 instance type you run this software on. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, from smaller options like c4.large and m5.large up to larger ones such as x1e.32xlarge and c5n.18xlarge. Your hourly rate scales with the instance you choose, so cost tracks the compute capacity you select. There are no tiers or plans to pick beyond the instance size. You run the software continuously, and billing accrues for each hour the instance is active. This listing bundles traffic management with web application firewall protection at a 1 Gbps throughput level.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover for each EC2 instance type I choose?
The hourly rate covers the software licence for running Virtual Traffic Manager Enterprise with vWAF at 1 Gbps throughput on that instance. You pay per hour the instance runs. Larger instances carry higher rates because they provide more compute capacity for handling application traffic.
Am I charged when my EC2 instance is stopped or powered off?
Software charges accrue only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance stops software billing. Underlying AWS storage or reserved resources may still incur separate AWS fees, but the software licence meters running hours only.
Does throughput change when I pick a larger instance type?
No. This listing is fixed at 1 Gbps throughput regardless of the instance you select. Choosing a larger instance gives more compute headroom for traffic management and web application firewall processing, but the licensed throughput cap stays at 1 Gbps.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
