Tango is a binary translation system for GNU/Linux and Android which allows unmodified 32-bit ARM programs to run on 64-bit only ARM processors. This AMI pre-integrates Tango translator on AWS Ubuntu and serves as a standard Tango reference integration platform. By launching an EC2 instance, one can quickly run and evaluate Tango translator in Linux/Ubuntu environment. Because AWS ARM64 server supports both 32bit and 64bit, one can also turn on/off Tango translator to evaluate translator performance effectively. Android container (Redroid) is pre-integrated for quick Android-in-the-cloud demo.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
This listing is free to use, so you pay no software charges for the binary translator itself. Pricing is organized by AWS EC2 instance type, all billed per hour. You choose across three ARM64 instance families: a1, c6g, and c7g, plus t4g. Within each family, sizes range from medium up to 4xlarge, with a1.metal also offered. Larger sizes provide more compute capacity. Your hourly cost reflects the underlying EC2 instance you select, not the software. Pick the instance size that matches your workload needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What exactly am I paying for if the software itself is free?
The software carries no license charge. Your hourly cost reflects only the underlying AWS EC2 instance you run. Each listed dimension maps to one EC2 instance type, billed per running hour. You pay AWS for the compute, not for the binary translator.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly charges apply only while an instance runs. Stopped instances accrue no hourly compute charge. However, stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes. The metering counts running instance-hours, so powering off halts the hourly cost.
How do I choose between the a1, c6g, c7g, and t4g instance families?
Each family targets a different workload profile. The a1 family suits general ARM64 workloads. The c6g and c7g families favor compute-heavy tasks. The t4g family supports burstable use. Within each family, sizes from medium to 4xlarge scale compute capacity, so match the size to your load.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
