The Aged & Vintage Whisky Index (AVWI) tracks how collectible whisky performs by age statement and distillation vintage, the primary quality and scarcity signals in the whisky market, much as vintage anchors fine wine. It lets you benchmark aged and vintage bottlings across Scotch and Japanese whisky on a consistent methodology.
The index is built on ALT/FNDATA's whisky sales data (over 49,000 lots across 220+ auction houses since 1998, with 24,000+ carrying an age statement or distillation year), spanning distilleries such as Macallan, Springbank, Bowmore, Yamazaki and Karuizawa. Index values come in JSON, CSV and SQL table formats and update daily.
