Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance that runs this email server software. Each dimension maps to one AWS instance type, so pricing scales with the compute size you pick. Smaller shared-core types like t3.nano and t3.micro sit at the low end. Larger types add more CPU, memory, storage, or GPU capacity, which raises the hourly rate. Memory-focused (r-family), compute-focused (c-family), and general-purpose (m-family) options let you match hardware to your workload. You are billed for hours the instance runs, through your AWS account. Storage is attached separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select, billed per hour. The rate covers the pre-configured email server software image on that instance. You choose the instance type at launch, and the hourly charge follows that choice. Attached storage is billed separately through your AWS account.
Software charges accrue only while the instance runs. When you stop the instance, the hourly software fee stops. Attached storage volumes still incur standard AWS storage fees while the instance is stopped, since the software meters running hours only. Restarting resumes the hourly charge.
Cost is driven entirely by the instance type you run. Moving to a type with more CPU, memory, storage, or GPU raises the hourly rate. You pay one rate per running instance, so the total is the hourly rate multiplied by hours run. Storage adds separate AWS charges.
