You pay by the hour for this hardened Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 image. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the instance you launch. Options span general-purpose, compute, memory, storage, GPU, high-performance, and machine-learning families, in sizes from nano and micro up to metal and multi-terabyte instances. Both x86_64 and ARM64 (Graviton) instances are covered. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates. This software fee is separate from the underlying AWS infrastructure charge for running the instance. Billing tracks actual hours of use.

What does one hourly charge cover, and what is not included in the software fee?
Each hourly rate covers the hardened RHEL 10 image running on one matching EC2 instance. It buys a PCI-focused, monthly-patched operating-system baseline. You still pay separate AWS infrastructure charges for the instance. Your team owns application security, networking, identity, logging, evidence retention, and assessor validation.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or powered off?
The software fee meters running hours only. A fully stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue this hourly charge. Note that stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, which are separate from the image software fee.
How do I pick between x86_64 and ARM64 (Graviton) instance dimensions?
Choose x86_64 for broad application compatibility, or ARM64 for Graviton instance families. Your hourly rate follows the specific instance type you launch. Confirm that architecture availability matches your product listing, since coverage varies by operating system. Test the image against your workload before production.

Usage instructions
Launch the image inside your secure VPC.
Scope access to trusted IPs only. Avoid exposing the instance directly to the internet.
Use AWS Systems Manager Session Manager or connect via VPN if possible.
To connect via SSH: ssh ec2-user@<your-ec2-public-ip>.
Ensure port 22 is open in your security group and locked down to your IP.
No additional steps are required. The system is already fully hardened and ready to use.
