Pulse prices by the number and size of Elasticsearch clusters you connect. Each cluster you monitor counts as one billed unit. You pick the dimension that matches your cluster size. The Small Elasticsearch Cluster covers deployments of 5 or fewer data nodes. The standard Elasticsearch Cluster covers deployments up to 25 data nodes. The Large Elasticsearch Cluster covers deployments above 25 data nodes. Billing is per cluster, so your cost scales as you add clusters or move a cluster into a size band with more data nodes.

A cluster is a single Elasticsearch deployment you connect to Pulse. Each distinct cluster endpoint counts as one billed unit. You are charged per connected cluster, so the number of separate deployments you monitor drives your total.
How does the data node count decide which dimension applies to my cluster?
Data node count sets your size band. A deployment with 5 or fewer data nodes uses the Small Elasticsearch Cluster unit. Up to 25 data nodes uses the standard Elasticsearch Cluster unit. Above 25 data nodes uses the Large Elasticsearch Cluster unit.
What happens if my cluster grows past the node limit for my chosen unit?
If your cluster crosses into a higher node band, it moves to the matching size dimension. You would bill under the unit that covers your current data node count. Adding more separate clusters also raises cost, since billing is per connected cluster.
