    Deployed on AWS
Pulse is a scheduling tool for automated start/stop of EC2 instances and RDS databases. Organise tasks into groups and assign weekly schedules to optimise resource usage and reduce costs, with built-in logging for full operational visibility.

    Overview

Pulse is a powerful, native AWS scheduler designed to automate the start and stop operations for your EC2 and RDS database instances, streamlining resource management and significantly reducing operational overhead. With an intuitive web-based interface, Pulse allows users to easily create customizable tasks grouped logically to control execution order or concurrency, ensuring efficient utilization of cloud resources tailored precisely to your organizational needs. The application's robust scheduling feature empowers you to configure recurring weekly schedules with pinpoint accuracy, selecting specific days for task execution, such as Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Pulse ensures tasks within your groups run exactly as intended, whether sequentially or in parallel, while offering detailed logging for complete visibility into each operation. Additional capabilities include manual execution for quick testing and validation, integrated AWS SNS notifications for immediate updates, and scalability that effortlessly accommodates growing environments. Built with security and efficiency in mind, Pulse operates within a public VPC and utilizes IAM roles with least-privilege access, ensuring compliance and minimizing risk exposure. Ideal for businesses seeking reliable automation, cost efficiency, and enhanced resource control, Pulse transforms cloud infrastructure scheduling into a seamless and highly manageable experience. Built on AWS Graviton.

    CloudFormation Template (CFT)

AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."

    Usage instructions

Steps to Launch the EC2 Instance Provide a unique EC2 name. The name must be unique to your account because the IAM role deployed relies on the EC2 name. While multiple EC2 instances can have the same name, the IAM role must be unique within your account; therefore, the EC2 name must also be unique. Specify the Subnet ID. The EC2 instance requires internet access and must be accessible from the internet on the HTTP port. Alternatively, you can simply place it in a public subnet. Provide the Security Group ID. Refer to the troubleshooting section to ensure the inbound rules of your Security Group are correctly configured. Specify the EC2 instance type. We provide t4g.medium as the default, but you are free to choose any instance type that suits your requirements. Accessing Fuse Application Open a web browser: AWS Marketplace where Fuse is available. Follow instructions for deployment. Enter the public DNS of the EC2 instance hosting Pulse. Example: <http://<your-ec2-IPV4>>. You will be redirected to the Login Page.
