What compute resources do the t3.medium and t3.large instances provide for billing?
Each instance is billed per running hour. The t3.medium is a smaller instance with fewer vCPUs and less memory. The t3.large provides more vCPUs and memory. You pick the size that matches your deployment's compute needs. Both run the same Public Key Infrastructure software.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or powered off?
Hourly charges apply only while the instance runs. A stopped instance does not accrue software charges, since the software itself is free. You may still pay underlying AWS storage fees for stopped instances. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
How does the software cost scale as my IoT deployment grows?
The software is free, so cost comes only from your chosen AWS instances. Lamassu IoT scales by adding more nodes. Running more instances or moving to the t3.large increases hourly compute charges. You size and add instances to match your workload.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
Launch a web browser and navigate to the EC2 instance's IP or DNS name using the HTTPS protocol. This will redirect you to the authentication platform.
Log in using the username "lamassu" and the instance ID as the password. Upon logging in, you will be prompted to change the user's password.
It is highly recommended that you also change the admin user password. To do so, visit the following URL: https://<instance-ip>/auth/admin/master/console/. Use "admin" as the username and the instance ID as the password. The system will require you to change this password after the first login.
For any additional changes to Lamassu's configuration, log in to the EC2 instance using the "ubuntu" user. Refer to Lamassu's helm release information for any configuration doubts: https://github.com/lamassuiot/lamassu-helm.
