Added security has protected client websites and highlights risky outdated SSL issues

    Reviewed on Jul 24, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I rely on Bitdefender Security for AWS to block pages that are not safe to visit. I deal with a lot of businesses that have outdated SSL certificates and different security challenges when it comes to their websites, so it's useful to have that capability. I also utilize the quick scan and system scan tools fairly often. I haven't used the VPN yet, but I am interested in exploring that in the future.

Truthfully, I use so many different tools that I don't know if Bitdefender Security for AWS specifically would stand out in a client's mind when discussing it. However, one example that comes to mind is a client or potential client at the time who had an outdated SSL certificate. They were under the impression the company they were working with was doing a lot more than they actually were. Because of Bitdefender Security for AWS, I was able to identify the need for updating some things on their website to protect them and the people who visit their website as well.

How has it helped my organization?

Bitdefender Security for AWS has probably blocked risky things more than I realize. I was speaking with a potential client who was dealing with what I call digital weasels, which are web marketing companies that are sketchy and dishonest. They claimed to have done a lot more work on this person's website to keep it up to date than they had actually done. When we were having a discovery call, Bitdefender Security for AWS helped me discover that their site was not being maintained accurately and it needed to be resolved.

I would not say Bitdefender Security for AWS saved me time, but it has pointed out issues that I may or may not have caught without it on my system. It has definitely prevented losses, very possibly, because it has found outdated interfaces or outdated SSL certificates and things of that nature, which are security risks for the client. Knowing that these things need updating, I might have caught it or might not have. That's not necessarily my area of expertise, but it is very nice to have that added layer of security, and I'm sure my clients feel the same way.

    What is most valuable?

I would say that the online threat prevention feature of Bitdefender Security for AWS is probably my number one feature, and then my system scan is my number two. I do the system scan maybe once a month to help keep my device clean because security is important in my line of work, and having a secure computer is essential.

I think the threat prevention feature of Bitdefender Security for AWS is a valuable asset to my system. I wouldn't say it's caught anything significant. It doesn't make my workflow easier per se, but it actually adds things to my plate in a way that I appreciate because it has caught outdated SSL certificates. I consider myself pretty good at avoiding risky links, but every once in a while, people are smart and they're getting smarter, so having that added security is definitely a peace of mind. The system scan has found a couple of things over the years, nothing dire, but it's definitely useful and beneficial to have.

The user interface of Bitdefender Security for AWS is great. I have never had any problems with it, and anytime they've updated their interface, it hasn't kicked me off, which is excellent because some companies change their systems pretty drastically all at once and it becomes difficult to navigate. So I appreciate the user interface, and honestly there's probably more benefit that I haven't even gotten the chance to explore yet in the dashboard.

    What needs improvement?

I would love to have more information on why a web page is being blocked, because sometimes that additional information would help me, especially when it comes to working with clients.

I don't think there's a single program in the world that I'd give a perfect score. In terms of rating between eight versus nine, I think there could be some room for improvement in the communication to the user of why certain things are being blocked, in terms of helping educate the people using the tool in an easy-to-understand way.

Truthfully, anytime someone incorporates AI into their company, I immediately find it less trustworthy and reliable and accurate. I don't know if it's flagged anything incorrectly or missed anything important. I sure hope it hasn't.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been doing virtual assistant work as self-employed for the last seven years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Bitdefender Security for AWS has maintained stability in my experience.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Bitdefender Security for AWS has kept up as my business has grown or changed.

How are customer service and support?

I've never had any issues with Bitdefender Security for AWS customer support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not previously use a different solution before Bitdefender Security for AWS.

    How was the initial setup?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Bitdefender Security for AWS was a smooth experience.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I did not evaluate other options before choosing Bitdefender Security for AWS, as it was recommended to me.

What other advice do I have?

Bitdefender Security for AWS is just an extra added layer of protection and information that I wouldn't have otherwise. I would say that Bitdefender Security for AWS is a great product, and I've had a good experience with it and recommend it to others. I gave this review a rating of eight out of ten.

Seamless cloud security has enabled MSPs to stay flexible and manage workloads in one familiar environment

    Reviewed on Jul 23, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Bitdefender Security for AWS  is complex MSP environments who use AWS  and Bitdefender.

I have additional thoughts about my main use case or how my clients are using Bitdefender Security for AWS , as many partners use the environment because it works better than Microsoft for them. Because they are an AWS  house, it just makes sense to use everything within the stack and then everything from Bitdefender that is purpose-built for AWS.

How has it helped my organization?

Bitdefender Security for AWS has positively impacted my organization because it gives our partners and MSPs the flexibility to stay within the environment that they already have and not forcing them to move to a different environment, such as Microsoft. It provides clarity and the ability to be flexible within their own comfortable environment.

I can share specific outcomes or metrics that demonstrate this positive impact, as there are many benefits such as time saved because everything is already in one environment within AWS. It makes it so much easier to have one pane of glass for everything. From a cost perspective, it also makes a lot of sense for MSPs.

    What is most valuable?

Bitdefender Security for AWS offers excellent features including security for containers, S3  bucket usage and security for that, as well as password managers around all of that.

Container security and S3  bucket protection have made a difference for my clients because it is all native to AWS. Bitdefender comes in and adds extra layers of security and makes everything seamless. The integration between Bitdefender Security for AWS and AWS is extremely smooth and seamless.

    What needs improvement?

Bitdefender Security for AWS can be improved, but I think it is good as it is. Updates and upgrades to different versions of different products within AWS and the switchover between AWS and Bitdefender can be completed quicker.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Bitdefender Security for AWS for just over three years.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Bitdefender Security for AWS overall as a nine out of ten.

I give it a nine and not a ten because sometimes the updates can really be a hindrance in terms of productivity, which is why I did not give it a ten.

Regarding Bitdefender Security for AWS's AI capabilities, I think they take governance really seriously, so I am not too concerned. I think they have the basis covered, and they have a great team.

Regarding Bitdefender Security for AWS's AI capabilities, I think the accuracy and reliability of output is really good, as the AI component has been put through multiple stress tests by the Bitdefender team, so I think that the output is fairly accurate.

Bitdefender Security for AWS is not deployed in my organization, but it is deployed in the MSPs that we serve. The MSPs deploy Bitdefender Security for AWS mainly in private cloud and then hybrid as well. Those MSPs typically use AWS and they use on-premises from time to time.

Some of my MSP partners did purchase Bitdefender Security for AWS through the AWS Marketplace .

My advice to others looking into using Bitdefender Security for AWS is to make sure you understand both the Bitdefender side as well as the AWS side, because if you do not, you will struggle on either end. Familiarize yourself with both environments and how they merge and come together.

I think Bitdefender Security for AWS is an amazing tool, and my overall rating for this product is nine out of ten.

Centralized protection for cloud workloads has simplified monitoring and improved threat response

    Reviewed on Jul 15, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case was protecting EC2  workloads in a test AWS  environment. I deployed the Bitdefender Security for AWS  agent on a couple of EC2  instances and then reviewed the security dashboard to verify that malware protection and security monitoring were working correctly. I also tested using harmless test files, such as EICAR antivirus test files, to confirm that alerts were generated and could be viewed in the consoles.

In addition to the basic deployment, I spent time exploring policy configurations and monitoring. I looked at how alerts were prioritized, reviewed the event logs, and practiced responding to the detections. I also tested scheduled scans, on-demand scans, and verified that EICAR test files were detected while observing how the consoles reported security events. The main objective was to become familiar with the platform and understand how it protects AWS  workloads.

    What is most valuable?

Bitdefender Security for AWS  provides several features that I found valuable. Real-time malware protection for the EC2 instances, centralized management allowing me to manage all the consoles through a single console, and automatic security updates with detailed alerts and reporting for security events are common features that stood out.

The management experience was straightforward, as it was easy to see security status and workloads from a single dashboard instead of checking each instance individually. Policies could be applied consistently across multiple instances, which would help simplify administration as an environment grows.

In the lab environment, Bitdefender Security for AWS improved visibility into the security status of the EC2 instances by providing a centralized dashboard for alerts and events. Instead of checking each system individually, I could review detection and security events from one place, which made monitoring more efficient. It also reduced manual effort because security policies could be applied consistently across workloads, and alerts were generated automatically when suspicious activity was detected.

The AI capabilities appear to be focused on improving threat detection and helping prioritize security events rather than replacing human decision-making. It is important that AI recommendations remain transparent and that administrators maintain control over security policies and response actions. Strong governance, audit logs, and role-based access controls are key to ensure AI is used securely and responsibly.

The alerts and recommendations appeared accurate and relevant. I did not notice a significant number of false positives, and detections were consistent with activities when I was testing. AI-generated recommendations should always be reviewed by a security administrator before taking action.

    What needs improvement?

I found the platform easy to use, but there are always areas to improve. One thing I would like to see is even more customizable dashboards and reporting, so different teams can quickly focus on the information most relevant to them. It would also be helpful to have more guided recommendations for resolving alerts, especially for new users.

Another improvement I suggest is making onboarding even easier for new users. It should have more built-in tutorials, guided setup wizards, and contextual help with the console, which could help teams get up and running faster. It would be more useful to have more customizable notifications and reporting, so different teams, such as security operations and system administration, can tailor the information they receive.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Bitdefender Security for AWS in a lab environment for a few months to familiarize myself with the platform.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

During the evaluation, I found Bitdefender Security for AWS to be stable. I did not experience any significant crashes or reliability issues, and the deployment, policy management, and monitoring functions worked consistently. Overall, it performed reliably throughout the testing.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Based on the evaluation, I found Bitdefender Security for AWS to be highly scalable. It can protect multiple instances from centralized consoles, making it easier to manage security as an environment grows. Policies can be applied consistently across the instances. Adding a new workload is straightforward, so it scales well for organizations of different sizes.

How are customer service and support?

I did not need to contact Bitdefender support during the evaluation because deployment and testing went smoothly. I did use the documentation and knowledge base, which I found helpful and well-organized.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Bitdefender Security for AWS was the first solution that I used. My focus was on deployment and monitoring and policy management capabilities. This is our organization's first time using a cloud security solution.

    How was the initial setup?

The setup process was straightforward, and licensing and deployment did not create any issues during the evaluation. I created a purchase order, it was approved, and it felt like a plug-and-play solution. It seemed reasonable for an enterprise-grade cloud security solution.

    What was our ROI?

Since my experience was in the lab and evaluation environment rather than production, I did not formally measure ROI or track metrics like cost savings and staff reduction. However, I see operational benefits. The centralized management and automated alerting reduced the amount of manual monitoring required and made it easier to review security events from a single console. As current users were trained to use Bitdefender Security for AWS, there was no requirement for new employees for that. Money was saved because before, the product that was used had a manual security system, so I had to look around each individual instance for security alerts, which also saved time and money.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I was involved in the evaluation process. I looked at a few cloud security solutions, including Microsoft Defender cloud and CrowdStrike, before deciding to evaluate Bitdefender Security for AWS. As the focus was on working more closely with AWS, the priority was ease of deployment and centralized management. From all of the criteria mentioned, Bitdefender Security for AWS stood out because it provides the features that were needed while offering straightforward management.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend clearly defining security requirements before deployment and taking time to plan policies for AWS integration. Start with a pilot deployment in a test environment. Overall, I had a positive experience with Bitdefender Security for AWS. I found it straightforward to deploy and manage, with good visibility into cloud workloads and useful centralized monitoring. There is always room for improvement in areas like dashboard customization and onboarding. I would rate this solution an 8 out of 10.

Security has increased and visibility into endpoint behavior has improved across our cloud servers

    Reviewed on Jul 14, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My primary use case for Bitdefender Security for AWS  is endpoint protection. I use Bitdefender Security for AWS  on servers and also on the company's personal machines, providing phishing protection and open port detection. On a day-to-day basis, I use Bitdefender Security for AWS as a website blocker for some remote endpoints that we have and I also perform incident response.

    What is most valuable?

The best features that Bitdefender Security for AWS offers include the visualization part of what the person is being blocked from or banned from at that moment. This visualization feature makes my job easier in the sense that I can see what the person is trying to access improperly.

I also find the licensing part really easy to see on screen with Bitdefender Security for AWS. I can view when my license will expire and see how many licenses I have in an easy and quick way. I can also determine how many machines are protected or which endpoints are currently outdated.

Bitdefender Security for AWS has had a positive impact on my organization by providing more visibility into what people are accessing improperly and more protection for machines with various operating systems, such as Linux and macOS.

    What needs improvement?

Bitdefender Security for AWS could be improved in the Threat Explorer part, as it doesn't detect everything. For instance, if the person goes to a hotel or an open network, the antivirus ends up blocking that network but doesn't detect it in Threat Explorer. It doesn't give me visibility into what is being blocked or which Wi-Fi it is blocking. Many times the person needs to restart the machine two or three times for it to then work on the open network they're trying to connect to. It could show up in Threat Explorer so I could allow it directly there in the allowed list.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Bitdefender Security for AWS for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Bitdefender Security for AWS is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I believe the scalability of Bitdefender Security for AWS is 99.99 percent.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for Bitdefender Security for AWS has a 24x7 SLA, but we are usually served within up to three hours. I would rate customer support for Bitdefender Security for AWS a ten.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Kaspersky, and I changed to Bitdefender Security for AWS because of the price and because Bitdefender Security for AWS is more user-friendly. Kaspersky was more complex to use.

    How was the initial setup?

My experience with pricing, setup costs, and licensing for Bitdefender Security for AWS is that the prices beat what the market had because before that I used Kaspersky. I presented the costs that we had, and it turned out to be 30 percent cheaper than what we were already using. The integration into our environment and the migration was also very controlled and quick.

    What about the implementation team?

I did not purchase Bitdefender Security for AWS through the AWS Marketplace . Instead, it was through a consulting partner at a presentation I went to about the antivirus itself, and they offered us a good proposal which I ended up buying.

    What was our ROI?

I have already obtained a return on investment with Bitdefender Security for AWS. There was an apparent cost reduction now at the beginning, and when we renewed its license, there was a cost reduction again along with fewer endpoint cases. As we had been using it for some time, the antivirus started to work better.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I did not evaluate other options before choosing Bitdefender Security for AWS. I discovered it at a presentation by a consultant who invited me to a dinner and presented this solution to me, which I found interesting and adopted it.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for others thinking about using Bitdefender Security for AWS is to assess whether it will be viable for their current environment. I believe so because Bitdefender Security for AWS is compatible with almost any environment.

However, if the person already comes from a solution that meets all their requirements and is at a competitive price, then it depends on what the company is looking for and the financial budget they have to adapt. Migration to Bitdefender Security for AWS would be very welcome. I would rate this review an eight.
