AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for a hardened Ubuntu 20.04 image running on 64-bit ARM (Graviton) instances. Each dimension maps to one AWS EC2 instance type, so pricing scales with the compute you pick. Options range from small sizes like t4g.nano and c6g.medium up to large and bare-metal types such as x8g.metal-48xl and r8gd.metal-48xl. You choose the instance family (compute, memory, storage, or network optimized) and size to match your workload. The software fee applies on top of standard AWS infrastructure charges, and larger instances carry higher hourly rates.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly software fee on each instance type?
You get a hardened Ubuntu 20.04 image running on 64-bit ARM (Graviton) hardware. Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type, and the hourly fee licenses that running instance. The image includes automated hardening built with NIST standards plus vendor support. Underlying AWS compute charges apply separately.
Am I charged the hourly software fee when an instance is stopped?
The software fee meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from this software license.
How does my bill change if I switch to a larger instance type?
Each instance type is billed at its own hourly rate. Larger sizes and bare-metal types carry higher rates than smaller ones. Switching instance types changes the rate immediately when the new instance runs. You pay only for hours the selected instance is active.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
