You pay by the hour for a security-hardened ALMA Linux 9 image at the advanced Level 2 hardening. Pricing is not tiered by feature. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the compute size you choose. Smaller general-purpose instances like t2.micro cost less per hour than large memory, compute, storage, or GPU instances such as r7a, c7a, i3, or g5 families. You select the instance that fits your workload and pay only for the hours it runs. No upfront commitment applies.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You are billed per hour that a chosen EC2 instance runs the hardened ALMA Linux 9 image. One hour equals one running instance-hour. Each running instance meters separately. The rate matches the instance type you launch, so larger compute sizes bill more per hour.
The software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Underlying AWS storage or other resources tied to the stopped instance may still bill separately through AWS. To stop software charges, stop the instance.
