The product can be deployed through the AWS CloudFormation service.
CloudFormation will first create a stack of AWS resources (EC2 instances, VPC,
subnets, security groups, etc.), and then install BigFix Platform on top of them.
Initially, BigFix will be deployed with a 30-day license with limited
capabilities. As soon as the purchase process is finalized (no later than 30 days
after the acceptance of the Private Offer), the type and duration of the
license will be aligned to what was agreed in the terms of the Private Offer,
allowing access to full functionality.
This initial BigFix Platform installation is suited to support base use cases for
the product; it can be easily expanded with additional EC2 instances created
by the customer that would enable additional components and capabilities.

This listing is available only through a private offer, so you do not buy it at a fixed public rate. Pricing rests on two usage dimensions that you can combine. You pay based on the number of Client Device units you manage. You also pay based on the number of Managed Server units you manage. Both scale with your device and server counts. The vendor sets final terms after reviewing your requirements. This lets you size the purchase to match your own endpoint and server environment rather than a preset package.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one Client Device unit versus one Managed Server unit for billing?
A Client Device unit maps to an endpoint such as a laptop, desktop, or user workstation the agent manages. A Managed Server unit maps to a server, whether physical, virtual, or cloud-based. You count each device and each server separately, then combine both totals to size your purchase.
Which dimension drives more of my cost — Client Devices or Managed Servers?
Both dimensions bill independently and appear together in your total. Client Device charges scale with your laptop and desktop count. Managed Server charges scale with your server count. Environments heavy on workstations lean on the Client Device dimension. Server-focused infrastructure leans on the Managed Server dimension. The final mix reflects your own device and server counts.
How does my cost change as I add or remove devices and servers?
Cost tracks the number of units you manage under each dimension. Adding devices raises the Client Device portion. Adding servers raises the Managed Server portion. Because pricing is set through a private offer after the vendor reviews your requirements, the vendor confirms final terms for your device and server counts.

CloudFormation stack is made up of 5 EC2 instances: the BigFix Server, the MSSQL Server, the BigFix Console, the BigFix Relay (Top-Level Relay) and a bastion instance. The Top-Level Relay is the Relay to which on-prem BigFix Leaf Relays and Internet BigFix Clients will have to connect to in order to join the BigFix deployment. The bastion instance allows secure RDP access to the EC2 instances in the private subnet.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
AWS Support is a one-on-one, fast-response support channel that is staffed 24x7x365 with experienced and technical support engineers. The service helps customers of all sizes and technical abilities to successfully utilize the products and features provided by Amazon Web Services.
