You pay by the hour for the AWS EC2 instance type you run this hardened Docker image on. Each dimension maps to one specific EC2 instance type, priced per hour of use. There is no upfront commitment. Your cost scales with two factors: which instance you pick and how many hours you run it. Smaller instance types like t3.nano and t3a.micro carry lower hourly rates. Larger compute, memory, and GPU instances such as p5.48xlarge and u-24tb1.112xlarge carry higher rates. Choose the instance that fits your workload, and billing follows actual runtime.

What do I actually receive when I run one of these hourly instance types?
You receive a hardened Docker image built on Rocky Linux 9, running on the AWS EC2 instance type you select. The image is configured to STIG security recommendations to reduce system vulnerabilities. The instance type sets your compute, memory, and GPU resources. You pay per hour of runtime on that instance.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are billed by AWS, not by this software listing.
Is this pay-as-you-go, or do I commit to a term upfront?
This is pay-as-you-go. You are billed by the hour for actual runtime on the instance type you choose. There is no upfront commitment or fixed term. If you switch to a different instance type, the hourly rate for that new type applies from that point.
