Overview
The NDI® Discovery Server is designed to replace the automatic discovery NDI uses with a centralized registry of NDI sources. This server is particularly useful for installations where significant mDNS traffic is undesirable or multicast is impractical, such as in cloud computing environments. It supports all NDI functionality, including NDI groups, and allows NDI to operate entirely in unicast mode. Multiple redundant servers can be deployed, ensuring continuous visibility of sources even if one server goes down.
Highlights
- Enhances reliable video stream discovery for complex networks.
- Ensures reliable operation in environments where multicast traffic may be restricted, such as cloud networks.
- Supports redundant servers for continuous source visibility.

Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance.
