You pay by the hour for the Amazon EC2 instance you run this hardened Docker image on. Each dimension maps to one specific EC2 instance type, so pricing scales with the compute you pick. Smaller instances like t3.nano cost less per hour, while large and metal instances such as u7in-32tb.224xlarge cost more. Choices span general-purpose, compute, memory, storage, GPU, and machine-learning instance families. There are no tiers or upfront commitments. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs, and you can switch instance types as your needs change.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly unit covers the software license for the hardened Docker image running on one Amazon EC2 instance of the matching type. You pay for each hour that instance runs. The instance type you pick sets the vCPU, memory, and any GPU included. AWS charges the underlying compute separately.
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue software charges. You may still pay AWS for attached storage while the instance is stopped. Charges resume automatically when you start the instance again.
Charges follow whichever instance type is running at the time. When you switch, the new type's hourly rate applies from that point forward. There are no tiers or upfront commitments, so you can move between families as your workload changes without penalty.
