This is a repackaged open-source software product with additional charges for ISBC fully managed AI-HPC support. The AMI is designed to function as a head node, pre/post processing node, or compute node within enterprise AI and HPC clusters running on AWS.

You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type you run this AMI on. The instance families group by workload need. The c7i, c7i-flex, and c8i families cover general compute, including bare-metal options. The g4dn, g5, g6, and g6e families add GPUs for AI, machine learning, and graphics work. The hpc6a, hpc6id, hpc7a, and hpc8a families target high-performance computing. Within each family, larger sizes (for example, xlarge to 96xlarge) carry more CPU, memory, or GPU capacity, and the hourly rate scales with size. You pay only for the hours you use.

What does one billing unit represent for this AMI?
One unit is one hour that the AMI runs on a chosen EC2 instance type. Each instance family and size has its own hourly rate. You are billed for each running hour on that instance, counted per instance you launch.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software rate meters running hours only. Fully stopped instances do not accrue hourly software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from this AMI's usage charge.
How do I choose between the compute, GPU, and HPC instance families?
Match the family to your workload. The c7i, c7i-flex, and c8i families handle general compute. The g4dn, g5, g6, and g6e families add GPUs for AI, machine learning, and graphics. The hpc6a, hpc6id, hpc7a, and hpc8a families target high-performance computing simulations.
