Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for each running instance of Windows Server 2016 Standard (simplified Chinese) with support from Hanwei. Pricing is not tiered by feature. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, such as general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage, or accelerated GPU families. Your hourly rate scales with the size and capability of the instance you select. Larger instances with more vCPUs, memory, or specialized hardware carry higher hourly rates. You choose the instance type that matches your workload, and billing tracks actual usage hours.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each dimension maps to one running EC2 instance of the matching type, billed per hour. One unit equals one active virtual machine of that size. If you run two instances of the same type, you pay two hourly rates. Counting tracks each running instance separately.
The hourly software rate applies only while an instance runs. Fully stopped instances stop accruing the software charge. Note that underlying AWS resources, such as attached storage, may still incur separate AWS fees even when the instance is not running.
The rate covers the Windows Server 2016 Standard simplified Chinese image with support from Hanwei. Hanwei tracks application releases and issues updates when security issues appear. Underlying AWS compute and storage costs bill separately from this hourly software charge.
