Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for this hardened Debian 10 image, billed per running instance. Pricing is tied to the AWS EC2 instance type you choose, so each dimension matches one instance size. Rates scale with the compute, memory, storage, and accelerator capacity of the instance family you select. Smaller shared-core types like t-series carry lower hourly rates, while memory-optimized (r, x, u), compute-optimized (c), and GPU or accelerator families (g, p, inf, trn) cost more. You add the software hourly charge on top of standard AWS infrastructure fees. Choose the instance size that fits your workload.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You get a hardened Debian 10 machine image preconfigured by the vendor. It includes updates, firewalls, and network protocol settings. The hourly rate covers the software licence for that image. You pay it for each running instance of the chosen EC2 instance type.
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the software fee. Stopped instances may still incur standard AWS storage costs for attached volumes. Charges resume automatically once the instance runs again.
Two charges apply on the same bill. The hourly software fee for the Debian image is added on top of standard AWS infrastructure fees for the EC2 instance. Both meter by the hour. The underlying AWS instance cost usually drives the larger portion for most instance types.
