    Netskope MCP Server Setup

Connect Claude to Netskope's MCP server to query security events, manage policies, and investigate incidents through natural language.

    Credentials

You need three values. Your Netskope representative can help you obtain them.

    ValueDescription
Tenant URLYour tenant identifier (e.g. mytenant from mytenant.goskope.com)
Access Code6-character code from your Netskope representative
API TokenBearer token from your Netskope admin console

These form your MCP endpoint URL:

Store your token in an environment variable — never commit it to version control:

    export NETSKOPE_API_TOKEN="your-api-token-here"

    Option 1: Claude Code (Recommended)

export NETSKOPE_API_TOKEN="your-api-token-here" claude mcp add \ --transport http \ --scope user \ netskope \ <https://mcp-preview.goskope.com/><tenant_url>/<access_code>/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer ${NETSKOPE_API_TOKEN}"

Verify with claude mcp list — you should see netskope in the output.

    Option 2: Claude Desktop

Requires Node.js (for npx). Edit the config file:

    • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
    • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
    { "mcpServers": { "netskope": { "command": "npx", "args": [ "mcp-remote", "<https://mcp-preview.goskope.com/><tenant_url>/<access_code>/mcp", "--header", "Authorization:Bearer <your-api-token>" ] } } }

Replace the placeholders with your values, then restart Claude Desktop.

Windows: If npx is not found, use C:/PROGRA~1/nodejs/npx.cmd instead.

    Verify the Connection

Ask Claude: "What Netskope tools do you have access to?" — it should list the available tools.

    Example Queries

    • Show me the most recent 5 security alerts.
    • Search for DLP incidents from the last 24 hours.
    • What application events occurred for user <jane@example.com> today?
    • List all URL lists configured in my tenant.

    Troubleshooting

    IssueFix
403 ForbiddenVerify your access code with your Netskope representative

The Netskope One Reality Check - Heavy Hitting Security with a Heavy Lift

    Reviewed on Jul 24, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
True Platform Consolidation: It genuinely brings Secure Web Gateway, CASB, Zero Trust Network Access, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Firewall-as-a-Service together under a single management console with one endpoint agent. If your aim is to cut down on vendor sprawl, it accomplishes that efficiently without adding unnecessary complexity. Security tools that slow user connectivity almost always end up frustrating employees, so performance matters. Netskope runs on its NewEdge backbone and commits to a 50ms round-trip SLA for TLS inspection. In day-to-day use, most users don’t notice the security layer weighing down normal internet browsing or access to applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is definitely not a plug-and-play tool. Because the configuration options go so deep, getting DLP policies, CASB coverage, and zero-trust rules tuned to a truly production-ready level can take months. In practice, teams often need dedicated Secure Service Edge (SSE) engineers or paid professional services just to get everything running smoothly and consistently.

Netskope is also expensive, and it’s clearly built for complex, multi-cloud enterprises. If a mid-sized company only needs basic web filtering and straightforward data protection, they may end up paying a steep premium for advanced capabilities they’re unlikely to ever use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Netskope One is a heavy-duty, top-tier platform built for mature security teams that manage complex environments. It does a strong job of securing a hybrid, cloud-heavy workforce without wrecking the end-user experience. That said, organizations should be ready for a steep learning curve and a meaningful upfront investment both in budget and in engineering time to deploy and configure it properly.

Comprehensive Cloud Security with a Unified Platform

    Reviewed on Jul 22, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like its unified approach to security and networking. It gives comprehensive visibility into users, devices, and cloud applications, while also enforcing consistent security policies across the web, SaaS, private applications, and data.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area that could be improved is the initial setup and policy configuration. Because the platform has such an extensive feature set, these steps can feel complex and a bit overwhelming for new administrators.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has improved our visibility into user activity, strengthened data protection, and made policy management easier. By consolidating multiple security functions into a single solution, we’ve reduced operational complexity, enhanced threat detection and response, and supported secure access for remote and hybrid users without sacrificing productivity.
