Built for ITSPs, carriers and VoIP platform teams who need class 4 SIP routing, least cost routing, load balancing and registrar capability, without days of module compilation, database schema setup and Control Panel assembly.

    Why OpenSIPS, and why this image

    OpenSIPS routes tens of thousands of call setups per second and powers routing cores at ITSPs and carriers worldwide. Its dynamic routing (drouting) and load balancer modules, dialog aware NAT handling make it the strongest open source choice for service provider routing platforms.

    Choosing between OpenSIPS and Kamailio

    Both descend from the same OpenSER lineage and both are excellent. Teams typically choose OpenSIPS for service provider routing platforms, the web Control Panel and the drouting and load_balancer modules; teams choose Kamailio for WebRTC edge, IMS work and its module ecosystem.     Sizing guidance

    Signalling is CPU light. Evaluation: t3.small. Production routing core: t3.medium or m7i.large. Large routing tables and high registration churn benefit from memory rather than cores. Keep media off this box: RTP belongs on your media servers or a dedicated relay.

    Quick Start:

    1. SSH in as 'ubuntu'; configuration lives in /etc/opensips/opensips.cfg.
    2. fail2ban is active (sshd + opensips jails) - whitelist your admin IP first: sudo fail2ban-client set sshd addignoreip <your-ip>.
    3. See /etc/motd on the instance for how to arm SIP auth-failure banning.
