You get a CentOS 10 image hardened using industry-standard frameworks like STIG and NIST, running on the ARM-based EC2 instance type you select. The hourly rate covers the hardened software license. Each dimension corresponds to one specific instance size, so compute capacity scales with your choice.
The software license meters running hours only. Fully stopped or powered-off instances do not accrue software charges. You may still owe underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the hourly software rate applies only while the instance runs. There is no upfront commitment.
You pick the instance type that fits your workload. Moving to a different size means launching that instance type, which carries its own hourly rate. Rates rise as vCPU and memory grow. You are billed per hour for whichever type is running, with no commitment tying you to one size.

Usage instructions
Quick Start
Launch your CentOS 10 instance and connect using SSH on port 22. The default username is ec2-user.
Example: ssh -i /path/to/your-key.pem ec2-user@<public-ip-address>

If you connect over SSH, configure your security group to allow access only from your trusted IP address.
This image has been fully hardened with Foundation Level 1 security controls applied and validated before release. No additional hardening steps are required after launch.
Once connected, you can immediately begin installing and running your applications on a secure, hardened baseline.
