AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
Y42 pricing combines three usage-based dimensions that scale independently. You buy Builder Seats in blocks of 5, matching the number of people building data pipelines. You buy capacity for Assets Managed in blocks of 500, covering the data objects you orchestrate. You also buy data ingestion in units of up to 50 million rows loaded per month. Each dimension increases as your team, workload, or data volume grows. You add units in each category to fit your own needs, so seats, assets, and ingested rows are priced separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one asset for the Assets Managed dimension?
An asset is a data object you orchestrate in your pipeline, such as a data source, a transformation model, or an ingestion job. Each object you manage in the platform counts toward your total. You buy capacity in blocks of 500 assets, so your count includes every managed pipeline object.
Which dimension drives most of my bill?
The three dimensions bill independently and add together on the same invoice. Teams with many pipeline builders lean on Builder Seats. Large pipelines with many objects lean on Assets Managed. High-volume data loading leans on Millions Rows Ingested. Your dominant cost depends on which of these grows fastest for you.
What happens to my ingestion charge as data volume grows?
You buy ingestion in units covering up to 50 million rows loaded per month. As your monthly row volume rises past a unit's limit, you add more ingestion units. The seat and asset dimensions are not affected by row volume, since each dimension scales separately.

Complete user interface, with lots of thoughtful details to help you get things done faster and get better visibility on your data transformations Compared to dbt cloud, Y42 really helps me manage seamlessly different environments (prod & dev) for both my code and the data created by the code Seamless transition form dbt Easy to get started, whether you are used to dbt project management or not Very reactive customer support, excellent communication regarding projects, challenges, bugs, updates Excellent documentation Great onboarding process (with the Y42 team and thanks to the "Get Started" menu embeded in the UI)
What do you dislike about the product?
A couple of bugs with some pipelines running for too long (but very reactive customer support) Can be intimidating at first (there are a lot of components and features to get used to)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Manage data pipelines across environments (prod, dev)

What do you like best about the product?
Couples dbt with additional functionalities. Probably the easiest way to get cost efficient data integration. Highly responsive and helpful support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still takes some time to fully mature. There are some small issues you run into here and there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an avid dbt user I enjoy the ease of data integration. Makes it very easy to follow data engineering best practices and I'm absolutely confident this will only get easier. When focusing on solely on transformations dbt is my favorite currently. The ease of data integration and incredible speed of their development team means I'd choose Y42 more often.

What do you like best about the product?
- The IDE in general with intelligence built into many features - Lineage adjusting live while your changing models - Adding dbt tests via UI automatically translated to code - The 3 developer modes are amazing: code, lineage, and catalog - Change logs and rollbacks are quite helpful
What do you dislike about the product?
- You need to get used to the Y42 logic of “stateful data assets” - Doesn’t support Python models but it seems to be on their roadmap
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It covers most of our data pipeline needs and provides the guardrails for junior team members to collaborate more safely with experienced colleagues

Great integrated cloud platform with smooth workflows to build and run data pipelines
Reviewed on Aug 27, 2023

What do you like best about the product?
- Very smooth and performant Git integration (Gitlab) - Embracing best-in-class technologies like dbt and Airbyte - Many integrations out-of-the-box - Easy to build, deploy, and maintain even complex data pipelines - Very responsive Customer Success team - Increasingly streamlined workflows with Integrated Data Development Environment (IDDE) - Cloud-first without any need to download software
What do you dislike about the product?
There are only very few things I dislike about Y42.
- Pricing could become an issue as you scale, depending on the overall size of your DWH and corresponding workloads. Apparently, they want to review their pricing models, and I know them to be open to negotiation, though. - As early adopters, we had to do multiple migrations due to fundamental overhauls of their product. However, with V3, I think that risk is minimized and updates should no longer be that fundamental.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Y42 enables easy integration of data from multiple sources into your data warehouse 2. You can transform your data with Y42 directly within your data warehouse to be consumed by downstream applications 3. Y42 also simplifies the orchestration of your workloads within the same tool 4. Reverse ETL is possible to select tools too
All your development is version controlled with a smooth Git integration that empowers teams to collaborate from day 1.
