Built on Immutable Infrastructure
OpenCTI is fortified by running within Docker on Flatcar Linux, an immutable operating system designed for security and stability. The immutable nature of Flatcar Linux ensures that the underlying system cannot be altered, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized modifications or vulnerabilities. Additionally, OpenCTI is secured behind an Nginx reverse proxy with self signed certificates, providing an extra layer of protection against potential threats. To simplify container management, Portainer is included to help users monitor and control their containers with ease.
Packed with Powerful Features
OpenCTI is built with a host of powerful features that position it as a leading cyber threat intelligence platform. It is self-hosted, giving you full control over your environment, and is designed specifically for managing and analyzing threat intelligence. The platform centralizes threat data to ensure critical information is not missed. OpenCTI features advanced threat data visualizations, customizable dashboards and reports, and automated threat correlation and analysis. Furthermore, it can integrate with other security tools via API.

You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. The nine options span three instance families (t2, t3, and t3a) in large, xlarge, and 2xlarge sizes. Larger sizes carry more CPU and memory, so hourly cost rises as capacity grows. The t3a family uses AMD processors, while t2 and t3 use Intel. This product requires at least an xlarge instance (4 CPU, 16GB RAM), so the large options meet the practical minimum only in specific cases. Choose the family and size that fit your workload and budget.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What resources do I get for each hourly instance, and what does this software need to run?
Each dimension maps to one running EC2 instance of that size, billed per hour. OpenCTI needs at least 4 CPUs, 16GB RAM, and 20GB storage. That points to xlarge instances or larger. The large sizes fall below this practical minimum, so plan capacity around the xlarge and 2xlarge options.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off?
Software charges meter running instance-hours. When you stop or power off the instance, the hourly software charge stops accruing. Underlying AWS fees, such as storage for the volume, may still apply while the instance is stopped. You pay the software rate only while the instance runs.
How do I choose between the t2, t3, and t3a instance families at the same size?
All three families bill per hour and run the same OpenCTI software. The t3a family uses AMD processors, while t2 and t3 use Intel. Within one family, moving from xlarge to 2xlarge adds CPU and memory and raises the hourly rate. Pick the family and size matching your workload.
