You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    After launching the instance, you will be able to log in via SSH with the "setup" user and the selected SSH key. In the graphical menu, you can assign a password for the "admin" user with which you can login to the web user interface that is reachable opening https://your-instance-ip-address:444/  in your web browser.

    What is our primary use case?

    I use IPFire  to protect my home.

    What is most valuable?

    The best feature of IPFire  is the location block functionality. It allows me to block certain countries from accessing my site. Additionally, it is a solution that is available for free, which is perfect.

    What needs improvement?

    The graphical interface could be much better.

    For how long have I used the solution?

    I have around two years of experience working with IPFire.

    What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

    It took me a few hours for the deployment.

    What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    I would rate the stability as ten out of ten for IPFire. It has the best stability.

    What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    I would rate the scalability as seven out of ten.

    I have never contacted technical support because it costs a lot of money.

    We use the solution for firewall, intrusion prevention and detection. We installed it in order to comply with customers requirements.

    IPFire has prevented any kind of hacking and enables us to comply with customer requirements.

    Accessing the internet was a bit complicated.

    Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

    We opted for this solution because we read the instruction, and followed the intuition.

    How was the initial setup?

    The initial setup is easy. We used Ubuntu and Linux, but we didn’t complete the process. We installed it and accessed the Internet to external.

    What other advice do I have?

    I recommend the solution.

    Overall, I rate the solution an eight or nine out of ten.
